Sukai was nervous. She had wanted to avoid the government and anything like it as long as possible, but she had been assigned a mission, rather than taking one. It was important, the mission, and this cooperation with the government. She hopped that no one would know her, whoever, however many they were, that she was going to be working with.
She was to be meeting with someone from the government, perhaps several someones, she wasnt sure exactly, and heading far to the south, to deal with some witches that lived in the woods, kidnapping people. Who knew what they did with them, but the few survivors were hysterical, even well after being found and helped.
She was already on a train there. She was supposed to meet this person at the station when she got off. She couldnt get out of her mind that they might recognize her from what the nobels had accused her off... But no one so far had said anything, and she hoped that the government hadnt taken any notice of their outcries. If so, she could possibly be heading to her arrest and perhaps eventual execution.
Her thoughts were pulled away from this as the intercom on the train sounded off, and and the announcement that they would be there shortly. She took a deep breath, and then laid back against her seat. She would take a short nap, perhaps get her mind off these things for now, and then hopefully all would be better when she actually met this person.

Cecilia had gotten a message from her supervisor, her commander, that she was needed on a mission. This was something that she could not believe, simply because she had just completed her training. Her commander had given her a document with the specifics on the mission, and upon reading it, Cecilia was starting to question why she had joined the Rune Knights.
Her mission was to subdue a group of witches that were attacking travelers in the Sleeping Forest. The eerie forest had already sent shivers down her spine every time she thought about it. The final part of the document was a message that told her that she would be meeting a guild wizard in the town near the forest. The meeting point was to be at the train station, and Cecilia was supposed to pick them up.
Currently, she was sitting on a bench at the station, waiting for this person to show up. She was humming a tune Lyra had taught her while she waited. People passed her by, giving her glimpses as they caught sight of her uniform that reminded them of the presence of the world government in their region. The girl just sat there, tapping her foot as she kept the beat to the tune.
"I wonder when the train's going to get here, I want to know what a guild wizard is like," she said after she stopped her humming.

She slept the last half an hour of the train ride there. It was not as restful as she had hoped, as images of large shadows grabbing and attesting her, a rushed trial, the nobels faces sneering at her as the death penalty was sentenced upon her...
She woke with a sudden jolt as the speaker box let out the announcement that they were pulling into the station. The train began to slow, and she stretched, gathered herself and her small bag of dried fruit that she had as a snack, stuffing it in her long sleeve pockets. She slowly disembarked from the train, and looked over the platform.
She was a bit nervous, but tried to remain calm and distant, at least in appearances. She had expected someone with a sign, or to be standing waiting impatiently, if her worst fears were not realized that is. She then noticed a young woman not much older than her, if at all, wearing the uniform of the government, and decided to approach her.
She bowed politely, once within speaking range of her. Greetings, officer. I am Sukai of Fairy Tail. I have been sent to assist in the capture and detainment of dangerous wild mages lurking within the woods. Would you be the individual I would have the honor of serving with? She said all of this calmly, though inside her heart was pounding, waiting for an ambush to spring and arrest her, or whatever else might happen.

Cecilia looked up at the person before her and just blinked. She did not know whether the person was truly human. Perhaps this was because of the general. Look she had about her, it was an aura of some mystical being. As soon as she announced herself as being Sukai of Fairy Tail, Cecilia stood up and tried to hold a casual appearance, letting her arms dangle at her sides.
Her thoughts were cleared when this mystical girl said she was going to help stop the witch threat. "Well, I'm Cecilia of the Third Rune Knight Detachment, Fiore Branch. I'm glad that I will have an opportunity to finally work alongside a guild wizard," she said while giving a smile.
"I'm sorry but we'll have to keep the small talk down right now, we need to head out into the forest that way to find the witches, and by all means, feel free to ask me any questions that you like," Cecilia stated while flashing a smile to her guild wizard partner as she turned to face the direction of the forest. She started walking into the dark depths that appeared to swallow any living thing, fully prepared to do what it took to eliminate the witches that had been plaguing this land.

She smiled slightly when she was staring at her in slight aw. She liked to have that effect on people, and was glad to see it. It put her at ease. It is a pleasure to meet you. she said calmly, as she looked her over a bit, before following her, listening to her every word carefully.
After Cecilia stated that questions were allowed, yet small talk was to be kept at a minimum, she nodded pondering a moment before forming a question. If it is not too invasive, I would like to inquire about your prefered style of magic. I will show you mine, so you know what I am capable of. She lifted a hand, and a soft, pale blue ball of flames lept to life in her outstretched hand. It waved slowly back and forth, distorting the air around it slightly, yet giving off no heat if she moved close enough to try feeling any. My flames are not ment to harm, as much as they are to distract, and mislead. This is the nature of the Fox's Fire.
She let the flame stay, providing them light as they entered the darkness that attempted to engulf them in the shadows of the forest, as most noise ceased. The forest was listening, and the silence screamed at them in a hollow hungry way... It was enough to send chills down Sukais spine, but she kept her calm fairly well, though her eyes were noticeably more alert.

Cecilia realized in her own mind that she had been a bit rude, saying that small talk should not be used. This thought kept going through her mind, keeping her fear at bay because she was unable to focus on it. When the Sukai asked her about her magic, she stopped in her tracks as she was brought back to the task at hand. While coming back and processing what her partner had said she immediately started walking again.
"You're not being intrusive at all," Cecilia said as she waved her hands in front of her, trying to reassure her partner that noting was wrong. After she said this, the mystical girl created a blue flame in her hand.
The Rune Knight had seen fire like that before, only not from an actual wizard. It was this fact that amazed her even more. Her eyes grew in size as she gazed into the ball of blue flames. Despite its strange appearance, it drew her to it. She listened intently to the girl as she described what it was her magic did.
"Well, I use a rare magic sort of like yours, I still have yet to meet another Mage that uses it. But, I use Stellar Spirit magic," the girl said as she opened up the pouch on her hip and showed off the three silver keys that resided within.

She nodded a bit, unsure of what the magic she used was. She decided to let it be for now, and see how it worked later. She looked around a bit, the dark woods giving nothing, only taking the light she gave off. Were there no animals to be heard? This certainly was a strange place...
They walked on, until there was a rustle in the trees, in which Sukai stopped, and listened intently. She was sure it was one of the witches, spying on them. If it was anything else, surely there would be other sounds about, would there not?
She waited, expecting an attack, but nothing came. Instead of relaxing, she cast another spell, shrouding herself lightly in her flames, before parts of her flickered in and out of sight, as if parts of her were temporarily disappearing.
Prepare yourself... I believe the fight is upon us. She stated slowly, her eyes moving around above them, seeking any movement whatsoever.

The sound of the forest was completely different than Cecilia had imagined it to be. Frankly, she was rather afraid of it, but because she knew she was on a mission the young girl kept her fear hidden within her chest. As she walked she could feel her own heart beat going at a steady pace, yet when there was even the faintest sound it would jump to a higher rate.
When she heard a sound that reminded her of scraping against a scratchy piece of metal pipe, she stopped in her steps, her eyes going wide. Her mystical partner spoke of them having a fight upon them, and it was in this moment that Cecilia began to doubt herself. She had never fought anyone, not for real any way, and here she was, supposed to take out a small group of witches.
Her fear had finally overtaken her when she saw the black robed thing walk out from behind the low hanging branches of trees. At least she thought the creature had a black robe, she could not tell in the darkness. That's right, if you can't see it clearly there is no reason to be afraid of it, she thought as she readied herself into a fighting stance.
Cecilia placed her body to be perpendicular to the hag, and raised her left arm in front of her as a sort of shield. This was the stance that she had learned I the martial combat sections of her training. "Alright, let's take this thing down," she said, trying to mask the fear she had while preparing for the fight that was about to come.

She waited. Watching the figure, and her partner. Perhaps she was a powerful mage. For one so young to be a powerful mage, it was comendable. Perhaps she was working with a legend and didnt know it...?
She put the thought to the back of her mind, as she gathered her magic in her flickering hands, and let it loose at the black robed looking thing, more trying to scare it out of hiding, rather than actually hit it. And this did as she had hoped, missing her target while making it begin to move, but the thing was much faster than she expected, as it moved about them in large circles, very quickly.
She frowned, and moved to have her back to her partner, so they could cover their backs. She hoped that her partner had an idea, cause her only one she wasnt sure if it would hurt her ally or not, and wasnt about to risk it if her partner might have something up her sleeve...

Cecilia saw a flash of blue fire propel itself towards the hag. As she watched the fire miss the witch began running around the two in a circle, keeping their attention. She felt something run into her back, so she quickly glanced over her shoulder to see what it was. Sukai had put them into a back-to-back position so that the hag could not attack them without one of them seeing it. The Rune Knight opened the pouch on her hip that held her keys. Which one would be the best here? she asked herself quickly. From memory she picked off the middle key which looked to have the head of a wolf as the main emblem.
"I am one connected with the Spirit World, heed my call. Open, Gate of the Wolf, Lupus!" Cecilia said while holding the silver key in front of her. A silvery blue light came from the tip of the key as a magic circle appeared in front of Cecilia. From the position, a silver light, the size of a person appeared, and from it, a person did appear. A scraggly looking young man, stood before her, wearing clothes that appeared to be torn. The young man looked over his shoulder at her with an annoyed look.
"Why did you call me out on a day like this?" the Wolf Spirit Lupus asked while glaring at his owner. When he opened his mouth one could tell that his canine teeth were longer than they normally would be.
"Lupus, there is a hag here, so will you please help?" the girl asked while putting both of her hands together in a begging position. The wolf just looked at her then shook his head.
"Alright, I'll defeat this thing, but don't expect me to answer your next call so easily," he said while turning his attention to the hag.
"Lupus, use your howling attack and I'll follow up with another attack," Cecilia ordered while the wolf man raised his head to the sky. As he brought it down, the sound of a wolf howl went out, along with a beam of purple light that flew forward and struck the hag, immediately stopping the creature in its tracks. Cecilia then ran forward and lifted her right hand behind her and punched forward, hoping to score a hit on target.
Her fist hit the creature with a direct impact, but there was not much force behind it. The Rune Knight then jumped back to her previous position guarding her partner's back. Lupus had fallen back as well and put himself into the mix and put his back against the two with him.

She was very surprised. Summoning magic was not that common, at least in her experience, so this was new to her. She didnt see her punch the witch, as she was keeping an eye out for anything else that might be in the area.
She waited a moment or so, before letting her guard down, convinced there were no more witches around for now, and turned her attention to the one they had captured. To her partner, she asked Would you like to interogate them as to the whereabouts of the missing individuals?
As she did this, she cautiously approached the mage, getting her cloth spear out and using it to tie up the mage as best as she could with it. Her knot wasnt the best, being a large mess and overlapped many times over, but it would hold, for a short time at least. She backed up just a bit, waiting for her partner to decide.

Cecilia saw her counterpart hurry and subdue the hag with some sort of weapon, but she could not tell in this light. As soon as she saw this she looked over to Lupus and matched eyes with the dark ones of the Wolf Spirit. "Lupus, you can head back, I don't think I'll need you again tonight," Cecilia said as she gave a thankful look towards her partner.
"Don't expect me to come save you again like this," the Wolf said as his form turned into a silver blue light and faded away.
The Rune Knight gave a sigh of relief, and then walked over to the hag who was now tied up. "Where are the travelers that you have captured?" She asked, putting on a stern face as she knelt down on the ground to look into the black eyes of the hag.

The hag simply laughed at them, Oh, woe is me! It seems that Ive been caught by thee! But where are the poor, lost souls? Perhaps if you treat me well, I may yet tell! It was a cheesey little rhyme, but she just began to laugh at them, obviously not intimidated by them.
Sukai, sighed to herself, not caring for the scraggly voice of the old woman; it sounded very cruel to her ears, and she did not like to be toyed with. She suddenly heard music coming from a distance. It was interesting, almost calming, but she was still wary of it. Other than the cackling old woman and the music that was slowly getting closer, all was silent within the woods. She did not like this one bit...
She took a deep breath, calming herself, and the old woman called out to them again. Oh, you hear it? That is the music that calls for fun, and the fun is for me and my kin! For your hearts are on the line, and for you I hope they dont end up in our den! Terrible rhyming again, but the threat was all too clear, as she began to cackle even more, the music growing ever louder.

Cecilia clenched her teeth together once she heard the hag's response. She hated it when people played games like this. Especially since people's lives were on the line. Anger was starting to build up in her as her fists started to turn a white pale color from how tight they were being held. When the music started she immediately looked up and stared at the empty forest. "Fine, we just have to take out your sisters right?" she asked as she stood up.
With her right hand she again stuck her hand into the pouch containing her Stellar Spirit Keys. This time, she pulled off one of the silver keys that had what appeared to be nine tails wrapped around the handle. "Sukai, it sounds like two of them are coming, I'll take the one on this side and you finish off the other one," Cecilia delegated as she lifted up the key she had just taken out.
"Open, Gate of the Fox, Vulpecula!" she said, causing the tip of the silver key to turn a light silver bluish color. Before her, a sphere of bluish light appeared and took shape into that of a person's body. From the light came Vulpecula, the Fox Spirit. Vulpecula had reddish brown hair with two fox ears sticking up from the sides. The Fox Spirit smiled at her partner, as though there was a psychic connection between the two, blue and white fire began to form in Vulpecula's hands.
"Cecilia, if I take out the witch in front, then we will have succeeded, right?" Vulpecula asked while glancing at her partner with eyes that seemed to have slits instead of circles for the iris. This was the look of her spirit in combat. Instead of a joyful carefree attitude, Vulpecula was serious, and ready to kill if necesary.
Cecilia just nodded to her partner as she saw three blue flame spheres appear in her hands. The Fox Spirit then launched all three of the spheres in the direction of the witch. The spheres went in three separate arcs, each hitting a moving object in several places. Finally, a hag came rolling out of the bush, having been hit by two of the three cold fire spheres.
The Rune Knight immediately waved Vulpecula's gate closed, knowing that both would be okay with the maneuver. Now, it is not really Cecilia's role to become excessively violent, but before the witch could get up, she ran up and threw her body on top of it, getting it to stop moving. There, she quickly hit several points on the hags back, which made it stop moving and its body fell slump.
Now, the only thing to take care of was the other hag.

Sukai didnt feel good about what was said by the hag. It seemed to her that they had to search for the people even after they defeated her sisters. She didnt like the idea of visiting the hags home den, wherever that was. Who knew what sort of things were there...
She turned her attention to the figures moving towards them, making the music. When her partner attacked one of the figures, the music abruptly stopped, and sukai moved in for an attack of her own. Her spell still hiding her slightly, she picked up a stick, a crooked looking thing that had a decent thickness to part of it, she moved closer than she would have normally have liked to, crouching down. The other hag lept out at her, taking her by surprise with a long ornate dagger aimed to stab her. Luckily she managed to swipe it away with her stick, but the onslaught was upon her. The hag was agressive, her eyes angry, wild, as she kept on coming, though her movements were predictable, and was easy to keep up with, even for someone with no swordsmanship experience.
Her problem was that she couldnt stand still long enough to cast a spell with her so ferociously pushing her back. Sukai had been on the defense sense the hag attacked her, but decided to switch roles, even for just a moment. After ducking under a high cut, she brought her stick around in a two handed swing into the side of the hags head. The force was enough to snap the thick stick, sending the other half flying into the woods. The hags eyes were wide, as she stood there a moment, before she began howling in pain, holding her head, dropping her dagger.
Sukai took this moment to focus her magic, and gather a ball of blue fire, its flames licking softly at her and the air around it. She waited just long enough to throw the ghostly fireball into the hags wound itself, despite her hand being there. Her screams intensified, and Sukai took the stick, and smacked her again, this time in the jaw, trying to shut her up and knock her out for at least a while.
She missed the first time, cause of the hags eratic movement, but a second attempt got her, and sent her to the ground, quiet, with a bloody welt on the side of her head and a broken tooth laying next to her face.
Sukai sighed, and dropped her stick. She was glad that this one was done with, and quickly turned to check her partner, but found that she was done with her hag before she had got very far with hers. You are truely skilled, Cecillia. She complimented, then looked at the first hag they had run into.
She picked up the dagger that was laying on the ground, and walked towards the first hag. I suggest you begin telling us where the survivors are. I will only ask one more time after this.
The hag, stared a moment, warry, but then laughed at her. Too dark that seems, coming from one so pure! But you have not yet won, for the forests are wide, and our home lost amidst it, so take your time, and take a tour! she teased them again, cackling, obviously not willing to give up yet.
Sukai stood there, staring at her a moment, before turning around, and walking towards the hag that held the dagger initially. The first hag, stopped short, calling to her, demanding to know what she was doing. Sukai focused some magic, getting ready to form an illusion, as she brought the dagger up, the first hag beginning to panic, believing her sisters life was truely in danger.
Despite her screams of protest, Sukai brought the knife down, intentionally missing, but from where the hag was, it seemed that she struck true, as her illusion took form as a spurt of blood, that began to pool around the hag, and drip from the knife. She turned to the first hag, still standing over the hag she had pretendedto kill. This is your last chance. Tell us where they are, or you and your other sister will suffer the same fate. Cecillia might notice the tinges of blue flames around the blood on the gruond and her dagger, but the first hag was no better than a blubbering mess. She seemed to be very compliant now, blubbering the information they had been seeking, but Sukai couldnt make out what she was saying, and couldnt move from where she was without the illusion fadding.
She looked to Cecillia, hoping she would try and figure out what was being said, while she stood, focused upon her spell, and looking scary, which worked for the hag, but she hoped that Cecillia wasnt scared of her now.
