To most of Magnolia’s inhabitants it was a relatively mundane afternoon, for the most part everyone seemed to be content with going through the day to day operations. It was fortunate for young Khalid that everyone was too caught up in their own business to notice the diminutive stranger hiding behind a tattered robe and a scarf long enough to find it’s way underneath his feet as he walked.
Khalid had never liked crowds, it wouldn’t be much of an exaggeration to say he was terrified of them. Still, he was there with a purpose, his mother told him to join Fairy Tail as her last request and he wasn’t going to let his fear stop him. His resolve was far from unwavering, however. He questioned every step he made, occasionally stopping completely to calm himself down. He had no idea where Fairy Tail was and no idea where to look. Do I just ask someone? He thought to himself, turning his gaze to the ground to avoid a passing couple.
Attempting to navigate through the urban labyrinth was trying for the young druid, every turn he made seemed to lead him to a dead end, disheartening him even further and with every mistake his goal of Fairy Tail seemed farther and farther away. Eventually he came to what he guessed was a market. It was even more crowded than the rest of the town. No wanting to plunge in, he decided now was as good a time for any for a breather. He sat on a nearby bench, letting out a sigh of frustration. “I’m really bad at this.” He murmured, adjusting his scarf.

A young girl was walking down the street, carrying her bag to her side as she looked up, on her head was her old fairy tail cap, she had recently returned from a mission to rebuild a house after a genotype monster had attacked and leveled it. She managed to defeat the monster with ease, and she looked forward to getting back to her guild, but first she needed to find a place to sit down and enjoy the cola she had just bought. As she walked she noticed a man sitting on a bench, she decided to sit beside him.
She sat her bag down and pulled out the can of soda, which was labeled as "Sour Berry Flavored Heart Soda", she looked at him and smiled before opening the can. She took a sip of it, the man was a bit strange. Purple skin, she wasn't sure if that was an effect of magic, or just his natural skin color.
"Hi, How are you doing today mister?" Fawn asked curiously.

Khalid's head shot towards the newcomer, his muscles tightening even more. He had somewhat hoped that his presence would dissuade anyone from sitting with him, although that proved to not be the case. From the look of her, Khalid guessed she was about his age, although much taller (that wasn't really an accomplishment.) She asked him how he was, and truthfully he was awful. His mother was dead, his home was a pile of ashes, he was in a city where anyone who remembered him would likely run him off, and he kind of had to pee. His problems weren't her's, however, so he relied on a stock answer. "I-I'm alright." His timid, youthful voice spoke up.
The situation was uncomfortable for the hopefully-future guild mage, to say the least. He would have been content to go through the day unnoticed, slipping in to the guild hall when he found it. That plan had failed, it seemed. What was worse was the fact that it was another child, he didn't recognize her but he couldn't rule out the possibility she was one of the kids that scared him out of town and branded him a monster.
It was then that he noticed the mark on her hat. Aerie had told him that was the Fairy Tail logo, and most of old possessions had the mark on it somewhere so he had become quite familiar with it. He took a moment to put two-and-two together before coming to the conclusion that this girl was a member of the guild. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, he thought it was best to ask first. "Your hat, that's Fairy Tail's logo right? You're not a m-member are you." Khalid's voice could barely be heard over the light rumble of the crowd, and he couldn't help his own discomfort from spilling in to his words.

She smiled as he asked her if she was a member, She could tell what he wanted, it was the same look she had seen on many faces before, in fact it wasn't that long ago she felt that same nervousness. She decided to have some fun. "Yeah, I'm a member." She decided to not reveal her status at the moment, usually people never believed her when she outright stated she was the master, since she was ten years old after all. "My turn! Is your skin purple normally or is that an effect of a magic spell?"
She took another sip of her cola, she wondered what this man's story was, he seemed very fearful of everyone around, yet he seemed to be seeking fairy tail, maybe he was from a distant land. She wanted to know more, however she didn't want to scare him away.
She looked at her soda, it was about half empty at this point, there wasn't much going on, just the normal busy streets, the lovely blue sky starting to get that faint tint of orange as the late hours approach. It was really the most beautiful place she had ever been, nothing more lovely than home.

And there it was. It was only a matter of time, and Khalid should have been more wary. The girl noticed his skin, it didn't come as a surprise really, he learned long ago it wasn't exactly normal. The real surprise was her tone, it was a lot friendlier than he was used to.
His eyes darted back in forth, trying to come up with a satisfactory answer. He opened his mouth to speak put quickly closed again as a large group of people walked by. He remained silent until they were gone, keeping his eyes locked on the ground.
"Yes, it's always like this." He replied, avoiding eye contact. "I'm not really human, I don't think. That's what I've been told anyway."

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted, busy and stuff x.x
Fawn smiled, "Well it's alright, I'm not a human either! I'm a fairy!" She laughed and took another sip of her soda, finishing it off before tossing it in a nearby trash can, "So what brings you to Magnolia mister? Oh! What is your name? Mine is Fawn!" She tilted her head. She was inserted in where he was from. Fawn opened her purse and pulled out some paper work along with a pencil, she began writing in it.
The sky started to turn a bit more orange, "Oh, maybe we should finish this at my house, unless you have a place to stay mister! I won't mind, I enjoy the company. It's also close to the Fairy Tail Guild as well if you want to see that, it's really beautiful when the sun starts to go down behind it."

Behind Khalid's scarf, a thin smile spread across his lips and the apologetic look his face had grown accustomed to softened a bit. It was unexpected for someone to brush aside his dubious origins. The fairy comment was odd, but he was content enough to assume it was kind of childish game.
"I live here." He replied, pointing east towards the forest. "There specifically." His eye's widened a bit at the name Fawn, it sounded curiously familiar but he couldn't quite remember. "M-My name's Khalid."
He wasn't quite sure how to answer her next question. He didn't have a house anymore, but wasn't entirely sure how to go about telling her that. After taking a moment to decide the best course of action, he settled on ignoring that part of the question completely. "I would very much like to leave, if that's alright." He replied, as shaky as anything else he said.

Fawn finished writing on the paper, she then grabbed his hand and pulled him up, "Well no time to waste, Let's go Mister Khalid!" She smiled and started to walk towards the guild, she figured he would enjoy the sight. "So how old are you Mister Khalid? I'm ten!" She looked around before they crossed the street.
After about ten minutes of walking they came in front of the guild, the sun was just starting to set, The guild banner above the building and various people walking around. One of them walked up towards Fawn and smiled, she was a young woman with black hair, "Hey Master! Can you tell Kolby to stop being a jerk! He hid my glasses like a jerk and is asking for a kiss before giving them back!"
Fawn sighed, "What will we do with him? I'll give him a good pounding, don't worry."
She looked at Khalid, She rose her eyebrow at his appearance, "Sorry Master, I didn't notice you had company."
Fawn waved her hand, "It's alright."

As Khalid rose to his feet, the exact discrepancy in their heights became obvious. Standing well under five feet and crouching slightly from a combination of his heavy choice of attire and a desire to remain hidden, he barely reached her shoulder. His cheeks reddened a bit when she mentioned she was ten, embarrassed that he hadn't grown in over 2 years. "I'm 14, actually. I think that's too young to keep calling me mister." He replied to the question concerning his own age, his tone more defensive than an innocent inquiry justified.
When they arrived to the guild hall, Khalid took a moment to absorb the sight. Everyone else seemed to take it in stride, but to him it seemed as grand as any of the tree's he chose to spend his time with. He let out a sigh of relief, as loud as his timid nature would allow.
The girl advancing toward them gave Khalid cause to step back, even after Fawn showing him kindness he still wasn't too keen on strangers. Despite his best efforts he couldn't help overhearing their conversation. The girl called her master, and after juggling the information through his advanced mind he managed to put the pieces together.
"O-Oh. That would mean you're Fawn Nidawi." He stammered, his eye's widening when he realized his failure. "I'm sorry! I should have realized sooner..." He took a deep, stiff bow. His mind was set on finding redemption, no doubt a product of Aerie's disciplined parenting, and he decided to take the first step. "I can get her glasses back, if you don't mind that is."

Fawn smiled, "It's alright, I'm use to it." She stuck her tongue out and thought about his offer, "Well, I can't really allow that, since your not a member of the guild and all. But if you were to join Fairy Tail, then you would be allowed to." She said with an obvious hint of knowing, pulling out a piece of paper that was already filled out, it was a form to join the guild. "All it needs is your signature then you can get a mark and join, of course if you don't want to join then I can't make you." She smiled and handed the piece of paper to him.
The woman with the black hair seemed a bit puzzled, "Well either way, I need to read a book and I need them, I'm going to go get a drink." She said before walking off towards the direction of the cafe down the street.
