Name: Monster Hunter: Level One Rank: D Post Limit:: 2 Objective: Fiore is filled with many, many different kinds of monsters the inhabit the land. Unfortunately, they have been causing a lot of interference in everyday life, so their numbers need to be thinned. Head to Kunugi, where giant pythons have been eating the live stock, and thin out their numbers. Reward: 100 Exp: 15 Participants : Rarda Eva Yana
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rarda stumbled off the train, feeling sick as usual when she ever took any kind of transportation. Why does this always happen to me? she wondered to herself, for if she opened her mouth, she was afraid she might lose her lunch.
She took a bit of time to just sit on the ground, with her head between her knees, trying to catch her breath, and steady herself. When one of the train workers came to check on her, she lept up, and ran off, with a hasty assurance that she was fine, and had many things she had to get done. This was partially true, but mostly she didnt want to get recognized and have someone call those annoying knights or other government mages.
Its funny what a simple misunderstanding can do to you, but what was done was done. She made her way through the roads for the next few hours singing to herself, keeping herself busy as she wondered how much longer it was going to take her to get to the village.
Her first indication that she was close was the screaming she heard. Ah, how the master would have loved to hear it : A scream of pure terror. Unfortunitly, she was here to stop what was causing this terror, but in the long run, it was all for making even scarier things that the master would make use of, for sure!
She began to run towards the sound, and after climbing a hill or two, saw giant snakes attacking the livestock of a herder. They were sheep, and they were everywhere, as several snakes were rounding them up and swallowing them whole. She grinned, liking the size of these ones, and kept on running at them, moving even faster now, as lightning crackled around her, and taking aim at her first target, lept in the air, and flipped, kicking with both legs together, smashing down upon one of the snakes heads with great force for such a small girl!
The snake dropped, and she landed on her feet and one hand to steady herself. The other snakes, and the herders, looked at her, and she grinned, as the snakes prepared their attack!

The snakes began to circle her, and close in slowly, hissing and flickering their tongues, getting a sense of her, before they would strike, for they had not seen anyone so small take down one of their own before so easily. Rarda grinned, standing ready, but not moving, waiting to see what they really had in them, other than sheep.
Finally, they moved in to strike! They both lunged, one half a second after the other! The first one missed, but the second one caught one of her legs in its jaws, and held it fast, begining to coil itself around her, but she balled up a fist, and punched it as lightning began to gather in her fist, causing it to spasm and drop her, where she kept the punches up till the other slammed its body around in front of her, and began to squeeze her tight!
The other python was having difficulty getting its head on straight, and the herders began to attack the snakes themselves! The one squeezing Rarda, dropped her and slithered off quickly, leaving its companion to the hands of the herders. Rarda took a moment or two to breath, while the herders attacked and bludgeoned the snake that was left behind till it moved no more.
Many began to cut open the snakes to try to save the livestock they could, while a few approached Rarda as she stood up, dusting herself off, and straightening her clothes. We thank you, stranger. Without your help, our herd would surely be lost, as we might be as well.
She looked at him a moment, unsure of what to say. She wasnt used to being thanked, but she smiled, and laughed. Dont worry! Its why Im here! I took a job to get rid of some snakes, and save your livestock! If I didnt do that at the first chance I got, then my time spent coming all this way would be wasted! She proclaimed cheerfully. Many of the herders grew much happier and began to talk amoungst themselves, before the one who had spoken to her before, presumably the leader of the group, quieted them and sent them back to caring for the frightened animals that were still alive after almost being digested.
I did not think anyone would take it seriously. We have been waiting some time, but we are glad you are here now. Please! Come with us back to the village, and we will get you room and board. We will need you rested before you take care of the rest of them!
At this, she blinked, surprised. She didnt think there were more, but that just ment more fun, so her confusion quickly turned to excitement! She eagerly agreed, and soon they were off towards the small village of Kunugi!

They arrived in the late afternoon, and the village was small. Very small. Rarda could see the other side of the village before they even got inside of it. She found this odd, and more of a collection of cottages rather than a village at all, but who was she to argue? Maybe there were more homes in the hills that considered themselves part of the village.
She was set up in a small little one room hut near the middle of town that wasnt used by anyone, but she was given much food and water, and hailed by the people that were there almost as if she had saved them all from some great evil! Strange it was, to her, that she had hardly done anything yet, and already they were treating her with such respect and adoration! She wondered if this was what those phoney celebrities got all the time.
Later that night, she met with village elder, and was told about the snakes some more, most of which she didnt pay attention to, but she got the basics. Every once in a while, the snakes grew in numbers, and the local wildlife wasnt enough to feed them all, so they expanded outward to find more food, and their little village happened to be where they liked to go.
So, her job was to take out as many of these snakes as possible, and perhaps save them from this kind of hell for another year or two. She nodded, in understanding, and asked a few questions, some relevant and some not so relevant. Where do they nest? Can I get a cart to bring them back with me? Where are the biggest ones? What colors are they? Can I sleep on a sheep? among other odd things crossed her lips and to the ears of the elder and everyone present at the meeting.
They answered her odd questions as best as they could, and agreed to provide her a cart to bring back the snakes, though why she would want them, they did not know, and even offered to have someone take her so she wouldnt have to drive. She turned them down, saying that she would pull it herself just fine, which got her some odd looks. They didnt allow her to sleep on their sheep, having to explain to her that their wool wasnt made of clouds as she began to claim. It was a fairly entertaining scene, if it wasnt for the townsfolk trying to be serious. the children, however, were laughing at Rarda and her weird questions, and especially her claims of the sheep being made of clouds.
Later that night, she crept out of her hut, and made her way to where they kept the sheep, and snuck in the sleeping sheep, and layed across three of them, and fell asleep. That is, untill she heard them begin to "baa" in panic about something, where she looked up, dropped to the ground, due to the panicy sheep, and saw several more giant pythons.
She grinned, and lightning crackled over her as the thrill of a new fight beginning came over her.

The snakes stopped, seeing the lightning crackle, and focused on it, wary of such, before she rushed them both, leaping on one, then the other, back and forth, till she got to the height of their heads, and decked one in the face, causing it to hiss, loudly. The other went to bite her, but missed, barely, instead biting its other sneaky snake, causing them to fight amongst themselves for a minute. She took this time to think of something to do to get rid of them without scaring the cloudy sheep.
She saw a herders staff, and grabbed it, before turning back to the snakes, who were now focused on her, and were already on the attack! as she turned, she caught one snake by its jaws with the staff, as it attempted to eat her whole, barely holding it back, till it lifted her in the air, and the other snake DID bite her, her lower half of her body to be exact.
She did not, however, let go of the staff, so the other snake was dragged along as well, causing it to hiss, and let go. When it did, she brought the staff down hard upon the snakes head that had her in its grasp with a sickening CRACK! It dropped after a moment of stillness.
She fell to the ground, and the other snake, hissing angerly, charged her, and she rushed it too! It struck as she lept to swep at its face-
And it caught her staff again, and they stood there, trying to overpower each other, it trying to smash her to the ground, her trying to push it away with the staff. The snake, being a sneaky little bugger, moved its tail to trip and grab her up, but Rarda took in a deep breath, her chest and cheeks expanding, before she sneezed in its face, causing her to falter, but sending a burst of lightning in its face, causing it to spasm and hiss loudly in pain and anger.
She rubbed her nose, sniffling a tad bit, before leaping up, and then gathered her lightning about her, then focusing it in a bolt in her hands, and thus into the staff, and when the snake came back down to attack her, now in a blind rage, she let off the bolt, a small thing, but it seemed to hit just right to where it shocked it in just the right place to either knock it unconscious, or to end its life. It still hit her with quit a bit of force, knocking her down, almost swallowing the staff, and pinning her to the ground with the weight of its head.
The townsfolk had been watching apparently, and at this point came rushing to aid Rarda once again, hacking at the snake, and getting it off of her. She laughed, and smiled, being much happier with this outcome than the last, where she actually finished this fight.

With the second attack, Rarda felt that enough was enough, even if it was fun. Before anyone could stop her, she ran off in the direction that the elder had indicated earlier that night, and set out to end the snakes once and for all.
It was about an hour later, in the forest some ways off that she found herself, finding more and more signs of snakes, wether it was tracks in the ground, or old snake skin that had yet to decay.
It took her some time, but she eventually found snakes, first one by one, and they were easy to take care of, but as she got closer to the nest, they got bigger and tougher. By the time she was at the nest itself, she was panting, and the snakes could smell the blood on her hands, and they were in a panic, searching all around for her.
She smiled, and lept right into the fray from a tree branch, as electricity began to surge over her body, and she landed in the middle of many of the snakes, shocking them all at once, knocking out many at once.
She had no time for a fair fight, so she just began attacking all the snakes around her without ceasing. Many of the snakes attempted to eat her, or snap at her, but every one that touched her was shocked, recoiled, if she didnt swing at them before they got away.
It was several hours before she walked out of that forest, having spent most of that time hunting the snakes, and then dragging many of the corpses with her, having tied them up with the straps on her back. She hurried back to the village as best as she could, and the villagers were shocked to see so many snakes being carried around, simply as if they were something normal to haul on ones back.
She collected her payment and promised cart, unloaded the snakes onto it, putting the biggest one in first before piling the smaller ones on top, and tied her straps to the wagon, before grabbing it and heading back across the country with it. Hopefully, she wouldnt get stopped by anyone for carrying such strange cargo.
