I have an idea for a character's type of magic, and I wanted to bounce the idea here if it was allowed/possible. The idea is that he uses consumable magical items to fuel his spells. Similar to a gun mage using a magic gun and blank magic bullets, but only using the bullets as a source of power. How would I go about making that magic?

In that case I would make the spells as actual spells and the consumables as items that match the spell.
I hate allowing spell types when it's just ideas becasue when something is even a little too powerful people go like "But it was allowed!"
So I'll just say it's not disallowed to make something like that, but the actual content of the spells is what matters.

That's a pretty nice type of magic. My idea is similar, though it more focuses on the concept found behind the Blank Magic Bullets.
On the other site I asked what the benefits of being a gun mage was since it cost money just to use the ammo. One of the things Shinzu mentioned was that a member could sacrafice more ammo to cast a higher level spell instead of more magic. My idea is a similar aspect. I'm thinking of bringing my card mage back from the beginning, but like the gun mage the cost for casting the spells is a little magic and more cards. An example would be this:
Spell Name: Fireball Card Type: Card Magic Level: Mediocure Range: 1 to 10 meters away Description: The user holds a number of Blank Magic Cards in his chosen hand (maximum 4). By focusing his magical energy into the cards the user engraves on the surface the image of a fireball in flight, with a series of magic symbols along the edges. By throwing the card(s) at his intended target the card(s) quickly become engulfed in flames and turning into flaming spheres. The strength of the spell increases depending on the amount of cards used, though the amount of magic required is Feeble (5mp). Effects and Drawback can be modified if combined with other cards.
Greenhorn- One card is used. The fireball is the size of a pingpong ball and leaves behind a darkened spot if it hits clothing, and a small red welt if it hits skin. Feeble- One card is used. The fireball is the size of a billard ball and explodes on impact. The damage is small, able to slightly burn clothing and leaves behind a red welt on skin 1.25 times the size of the firball. The impact is similar to being hit with a punch. Mediocure- Two cards are used. The fireball is the size of a softball and explodes on impact. The damage is small, buring through clothing and leaves a 1st degree burn on skin upon contact. It also leaves reddened skin surroung the wound equal to 1.5 times the size of the fireball. The impact is similar to being hit with a strong punch. Drawback: Requires multiple cards to use at higher levels. Travels in a straight line.
The cost for the Blank Magic Cards would be the same as the Blank Magic Bullets. The only difference is that I won't need a Magic Gun and I won't get the benefit of faster spells without the required skills or an additional spell.
