A wind shifted through the forest, causing the leaves of the surrounding trees to rustle together. They created a light, dry crunching sound against each other, some falling off their limbs even though autumn had long ago past. Snow covered the ground where it could get through the treetops. The rest lay on top of the highest branches, unable to fall to the ground because of the leafy rooftop that hung over the wet ground.
Indeed this forest seemed to fit its name, at least in Sakura's eyes. An eerie quiet of hibernating animals rested itself all around the trees, making it appear as if it were dead. However, it seemed that it could spring back to life at any moment, as if there was something unsinister lurking behind the pillars of wood, just waiting to pounce out and play in the leafy green. But there was no leafy green to play in. It was winter. All was still. All was quiet.
A sudden snap to her right made Sakura look up in surprise from where she was couching down and observing a frozen creek. A squirrel? she thought, standing from her place by the bank. No, it couldn't be. All the squirrels are hibernating now... Sakura shook her head to herself, deciding that it must have just been a branch falling under the weight of the snow, and went back to looking at the creek.

"Jeez, went and got us lost and now we got separated. Never shoulda left Riley to lead us around. I'll get her back for this, doing this and that to her..." Mumbling to himself was Battler Vandread, recent arrival in Earthland from Edolas. A little while ago he had been with his work colleague who was a part of his Assassin Duo. But for some odd reason, their sense of direction went out the window and they got lost in this forest. Not only that, they got separated when Battler spontaneously decided they were going the wrong direction and began chasing a fast animal that tried to run away when it saw him. After wandering around aimlessly for a while instead of staying in one place, he sighed as he stood on a twig which broke. Such an old fashioned thing. Even though he had run through all that forest without a single twig or branch breaking, only now does he break something.
"Hm? I feel the presence of... A girl." Not good. A grin appeared on his face as he turned around and around to try find the person whose presence this belonged to. After a while, he managed to pinpoint it and began walking nonchalantly towards the girl. Standing above her on the bank, he had his hands in his pockets as he called out to her. "Oh? You're alone? Girls shouldn't be alone in this sort of place you know." Battler spoke as if he cared, but there was something menacing lurking under his smile, and his blue eyes looked sharpened as if ready to kill. Who knows what he was planning at this point.
"... I'll kill that Edolas bastard... Making me put up with his wife... for a week..." Battler Myrddin trudged through the still forest, forcing his way towards where he thought that copy of his might be. From what Edolas Syana had told him, Edolas Battler was an assassin and traveled with his partner to take out targets. He was also told some tips in how to find him on his elusive jobs and so that was what he was doing right now. He had to find that bastard soon before his own reputation was put at risk. Apparently Syana had quite a bit of power over him as well and just the mention of her should make him tremble. Something about killing an unfaithful husband. In any case, he had to hurry. He had a bad feeling about this.

Sakura lifted her hand over the stream, melting the ice so that it created a small puddle of water in the middle of the clear-white, solid water. She refroze the just middle of the puddle, leaving just the outside of a perfect, small circle of unmelted water. Then, tracing her finger over the ice, she began to draw a picture of swirls and circles until she reached the other side of the stream. The female, brown-haired mage looked back at her creation, content with the beauty she had added to the plain sheet of ice that had covered the water once before.
A voice spoke behind her, deep-sounding and extremely familiar. Careful not to fracture the ice, Sakura slowly turned around and stood up to see her adopted brother (or at least she thought) standing before her. However, this was not the happy greeting she had been expecting after not seeing him for so long. In fact, it seemed as if he didn't know her at all. Thinking he was just playing around with her, Sakura decided to go along with the little charade. She smiled devilishly, looking back at Battler with equal malice.
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I am no 'little girl'. Eighteen is hardly anywhere close to that." she spoke, failing to mention that she was, in reality, still just a thirteen-year-old girl with an eighteen-year-old's body. Of course, she knew that her big brother already knew that. "And nice to see you too, Battler. I haven't seen you a while. Where have you been the past two months?" questioned the girl, skating backwards, away from him to the stable ground of the bank behind her.

Battler Vandread "Eighteen? So, you're the same age as me then! But..." Looking Sakura up and down, he made a thinking pose for a moment while running through things in his head. He didn't know this person. He knew that for sure. The girl in front of him was talking to him in a familiar tone which indicated she knew him well and probably for quite some time. And from at least two months ago. He knew that couldn't be, and so something occurred to him. This girl probably knew someone similar to him. On his travels so far since arriving in Earthland, he had seen a couple of familiar faces but none of them remembered him. On the contrary, there were a few he found that knew his face but he had no recollection of meeting them. Now how to deal with the situation in front of him? "... It seems we have a problem and I'm tired of repeating myself. Lemme introduce myself. I'm Battler, as you may have guessed. Battler Vandread."
Not bothering to bow lightly or be polite or anything, Battler simply gave a wave of sorts using his thumb, index and middle finger open, his ring and pinky closed. A habit he picked up from holding his Assassin Darts. Or maybe Throwing Picks would be more accurate. With that said, Battler put a hand on his hip as he stood there. Hidden under his hand happened to be one of his Assassin Daggers. He usually kept them in breast pockets on the inside of his blazer, but he kept a few along his hip/belt line as well. At this point he had no intent to kill so there was no bloodlust to detect, but there was still some evil hidden in those eyes of his that were looking at Sakura. I've already introduced myself but... I could mess around with this girl and blame it on the real person. The thrill of attacking a girl in the forest with no one to help her, and no Riley to stop me this time... Getting a bit closer without stepping on the ice, knowing his weight with his weapons would probably break it, Battler went to pull out a Dagger and throw it, speaking at the same time.
"Eighteen... is a really good age. At least for what I have planned." It was a menacing tone. Just as he was about to pull out his Assassin's Dagger, a golden butterfly passed by his face and caused him to stop. Turning his head only, he looked behind him with a sort of tensed and nervous face. "Yo, Doppelganger. Your Wife sent me to look for you."
Battler Myrddin Battler trudged through the forest, kicking some snow as he went. He had come from Mount Hakobe where he froze his ass off and had to put up with the nagging of Syana all the way to Magnolia so he was quite sick of this. He wanted to hurry up and find that Doppel of his and be rid of this entire situation. Maybe kill him if he had to. Stopping for a moment, he gripped a fist and began kicking the hell out of a nearby tree to rid himself of his frustration. Only when alone would he do something like this. As a branch bombed Battler with its mound of snow, he could only sigh as he looked around. Finally, he found some good news. A set of tracks. There were a set of footprints in the snow heading in a random direction. That would probably be his best bet at this point. Following it along, he came to see the back of someone who looked similar to him. At least similar to who he use to be three years ago.
Noticing that the Doppel was talking to someone, Battler summoned his butterflies to surround himself so he could observe. Getting a bit closer, he heard the voice of his little sister. Sakura? It's been three years. No, about two months for her. We got out of the Demon World a few days after she defeated that Dark Mage. But I never went to see her after that. We got into a fight, after all. Letting his thoughts drift, he was brought back to reality when his Doppel put his hand on his hip. Syana had told him how there were weapons hidden everywhere on him. Moving quickly as he dismissed his butterflies, he let one of them flutter by in front of the Doppel as Battler stood directly behind Vandread, not bothering to hold a weapon to him. What he spoke seemed to be effective enough.
"Yo, Doppelganger. Your Wife sent me to look for you."
Looking down at the ice where Sakura was, Battler came out from behind his Doppel and looked her over. Even though she had aged five or so years physically almost just before his own disappearance, she was exactly how he remembered her. In all honesty, he wanted to run and hug her and pull her cheeks. Maybe throw her in the air a bit. Turning to Battler Vandread, he let out some of his intimidation and gave a short threat. "You touch my sister and you'll be going back to your wife in a puzzle box." Walking between the two, Sakura and Vandread, Battler stood at the frozen river edge as his last butterfly landed on his shoulder. Being side on to both of them, he turned his head to face Sakura, his hands in his pockets. "It's been three years and two months since I last saw you. I'm home, Sakura."

A look of confusion crossed Sakura's face as Battler revealed his true name, with his last name being different from her world's one. Eh...? Why did he say a different last name? Is he just messing with me... or is this someone else? I cannot tell. Better stay calm for the moment. There's no need to jump to any conclusions. Sakura thought to herself, replacing the confused look with a guarded one. "For what you have planned? What, are you gonna look at me to death? Come at me, bro!" she said in a mocking tone, still convincing herself that this was all just an act. But before the man could attack, an unusual butterfly passed his face.
Ah, big brother's magic. So it is him! Sakura thought to herself, but still in a playfully guarded position, with her hands out in front of her in a martial arts stance. However, the expression on the face of the man before her was the complete opposite of the one she would have expected. From his look, he definitely was not the owner of the butterfly. But if his man wasn't Sakura's Battler, then he must have been close by...
Just as the young girl figured this out, her world's Battler conjured himself with his butterflies, ending up behind the one she had been talking to. Increasingly confused, Sakura melted the ice directly in front of the Battler walking towards her so that he could proceed no further without plunging into the icy water. He spoke up, his voice nearly identical to the Edolas Battler, but deeper and more aged. One had Battler's looks, but not his personality, while the other had Battler's personality, but not his looks. It's this magic world... everything is not as it seems. For all I know, neither of them could be Battler.
For safety measure, Sakura shape-shifted into her pink bird form and flew up to the nearest sturdy branch, in plain sight but still out of reach, then changed back into her normal form. "No offence, but who are you people?" She called out from her perch on the tree, her eyes flicking back and forth between the two Battlers. Behind her, Sakura heard the rustle of branches and the sound of animals scattering. She dismissed it to a subliminal level, assuming it was just another animal startled by her transformations.
"Ah hahaha! Didn't think you could get rid of me just yet, now did you Battler?" a voice called from behind Sakura, making her grab the tree branch in surprise. She relaxed as her brain had time to process the voice, which was exactly identical to her own. It was Reika, of course. It had to be. No one else from this world had that voice except for herself and her twin sister.
Suddenly, Sakura was tackled out of her perch on the tree by the unknown girl, falling into the soft snow that broke both of their falls. Grunting, Sakura pushed the girl off of her and stood up to be faced with... herself. But smaller. Younger. Exactly what she looked like before coming in contact with the forbidden magic that had taken five years off of Sakura's life. Gasping, she fell on her bottom and created a translucent ice wall between the girls, scared of this 'clone'.
Edolas Sakura, however, paid no mind to her older counterpart. "Greetings, Vandread. Long time no see." she grinned, taking out her giant inversed Bat'leth that had been stapped safely to her back. "Though you look older. What happened? Your wife finally taking a toll on you? Hah!" she mocked, looking down at the water. "Well, well, well. Looks like I'm just two leaps away from you. Too bad there are no stones nearby. Say, mind explaining why we're not hovering above ground like we should be?" She half-asked, not really caring what her enemy told her.

"Who the hell are you!? And how do you know about my wife!?" "She was brought here too-" Cut off, both Battler's looked over at Sakura who had just been kicked out of to see the younger version of Sakura as well. Earthland Battler had no idea who she was but she was talking to him, calling him Vandread. Edolas Battler was now full of killing intent as he had his hands on his hips, ready to draw weapons. Myrddin put a hand out in front of Vandread to stop him, putting his attention to the two Sakura's. "I'm not Vandread, and I've never had a wife. The one you mean is this one beside me. Please, refrain from fighting here. You can do that later." "Sakurai! What the hell are you doing here! Don't you know how to die!?" Leaving them in their own little world, Battler went over to Sakura's side to see if she was alright. "Sakura, I'll explain things later. For now, help me drag my Doppelganger to Fairy Tail."
"When will you give up this chase!? Leave me alone! Besides, I'm not interested in little girls." Vandread seemed intent on arguing with Sakurai. "If you haven't noticed, we're in a different world where Magic is abundant." He doubted she would listen, but it didn't look like Myrddin was going to help. Vandread's history with this underage girl was similar to arch-enemies. Ever since he left the Army and joined up with Assassins, she had been after him. One of his Targets was someone she knew which sparked up this whole revenge conflict of sorts. Or maybe Sakurai just wanted to kill him for some unknown reason. He didn't know, but he started seeing her quite soon after becoming an Assassin, assaulting him when he was alone and sometimes when with Riley.

A voice from behind the older-looking Battler screamed at Edolas Sakura, making her roll her eyes and smirk slightly. Even though she absolutely loved annoying the heck out of her enemy, his voice was higher-pitched and far more annoying than the Battler-looking man standing before her. However, his voice was familiar and reminded her of home (and, coincidently, why she had been tracing him in the first place). She stuck the tip of her weapon into the snow and a little into the ground so it could stand on it's own, releasing the weapon from her grip. If Battler wanted to play games, then a game he would get.
"Because I stalk you. Obviously." she smirked again, only half-kidding. Of course she stalked him, it was her life mission to eradicate the bane of her life. But that didn't mean that she would intervene with his personal affairs. Who he was married to didn't really concern her- it was merely "common knowledge". Sakurai let Myrddin explain who he was, and then half-listened to Vandread, who complained like a little girl yet again. She honestly thought that he was more immature than she was, despite the difference in height and looks.
"Not interested in little girls? Aww, and here I thought you were totally gonna fall in love with the psychotic chic trying to kill you~" she laughed this time, though it was a little off-sounding. "So, this is not our place, ey?" she looked around, spotting her counterpart through the see-through ice. Sakura was staring right back at her, eyes wide. "I guess that's my clone-thingy. She's kinda... weak?" she thought out loud, shrugging as Sakura glared at her through the ice. "Moving on, it's time for me to kill you now!" Edolas Sakura yelled, grabbing her Bat'leth and charging at Vandread. Water from the melted stream leaped out behind her, circling her target in an attempt to prevent him from getting away.
--
Sakura nearly jumped out of her skin as her Battler was suddenly next to her and spoke out. She wasn't sure how he'd gotten across the stream without getting hypothermia, but he was there nonetheless. As soon as she realized he was there, she hissed and started to back away, only to become pressed against the giant block of ice behind her. Damn... magic isn't so useful, after all. she thought, not bothering to melt her magic.
But the Battler facing her was not hostile. In fact, he asked her to help him. "Just this once, since it seems I have no other option but to act alone." she spoke, still pressed against the ice. She looked over to where the two were fighting, water raging around them, obstructing Sakura and Battler from seeing what was going on. Holding out her hand, Sakura concentrated on the mass of water and froze it within a few seconds, creating a kind of ice dome around the two fighters.
"There, trapped. Both of them. Now, all I have to do is..." she walked across the stream, freezing the ice directly beneath her to provide her with footing. Once she reached the dome, she melted a doorway to the inside, revealing the two still fighting. As soon as the first person hit the ground, Sakura froze their shoes to the cold dirt, as she did with the second person. "So, Mr.Battler-looking-guy, how do we get them to Fairy Tail?"

Vandread was not in the mood to fight this girl. Grabbing a Dagger in each hand, he held them with a reverse grip as he watched the path of his target, heading in the same direction as her. The best defense for him would be to meet each of her attacks, otherwise he would have no idea what would come his way next. As the two fought, Myrddin followed her little sister who seemed to not really know who he was. Such a disappointment. Watching her make a sort of ice prison, he followed her across the ice path she made and saw inside at his Doppel fighting. Looks like he had good speed and was using the walls to his advantage by bouncing off them. Pushing away an attack by the little Sakura, Vandread buried his Daggers into the ice wall and then jumped up to stand on them like a foot ledge. Mini-Sakura had her feet frozen upon hitting the ground and Vandread had his Daggers and shoes iced, keeping him trapped against the wall.
"So? Any point in freezing me to the wall? If not, I'll take my leave." "Shut it, Vandread. And Sakura, it seems you still don't believe it's me." Leaning in towards her ear, Battler had a grin on his face similar to the one he would use when playing around with his non-blood related little sister. "Are you sure you want me to remind you of all those embarrassing things we've done in front of our Edolas counterparts?" Leaving it at that, Battler looked towards his counterpart and then Sakura's counterpart, weighing his options. "Well, I was only here to retrieve that fake of mine. Taking back two would probably be a hassle. We can always kill the other and lighten the load. But, then again, having more of these counterparts alive and in one place might help us understand this situation."
Short, I know.

Sakura took a step away as Battler leaned towards her, flinching a little as he spoke. "That is the most generic excuse I have ever heard." Sakura said stubbornly, her right cat ear twitching ever so slightly. It was so minute that only one looking for movement could have seen it. It would have appeared as normal hair to anyone else. "Honestly, if you're going to pretend to be Battler, at least get your facts straight." she said pointedly, anger rising in her voice. Of course, she was bluffing, but if this guy wasn't Battler, he wouldn't know that.
"And if you think you're going to kill mini-me, then you're sadly mistaken." She walked over to her Edolas counterpart and grabbed her arms, forcing them behind her back and casting her magic handcuffs magic on her. "I do, however, agree with bringing them back to Fairy Tail. I'll take this one, and since you were planning to take your counterpart alone, anyways, then you can just take him." she said, casting another set of handcuffs on Sakurai's ankles. Then, without further hesitation, she hoisted her counterpart up and onto her back, in the same moment transforming into a black and pink horse. Without waiting for Battler, she made sure Sakurai was secure before galloping off to Fairy Tail.

OOC: I was gonna get Battler to pull her cat ears as punishment for being cheeky to him but she changed into a horse =P
"My little Sakura is bluffing and acting tough? Oh, whatever happened to that innocent hot-headed girl who would hide behind me. Oh, how fun it was to tease you then. When you were still little." With that said as he walked, Myrddin stood by Vandread and thought over how to hold him down. Grabbing out a key from his pocket, he opened the gate of a Celestial Spirit as the canine Kishi appeared. "If he run, bite his legs. This isn't the Demon World, so don't bite too hard." Vandread reluctantly accepted as he got out of the ice and stood face to face with his counterpart. "... Is my wife really here?" "And jealous by the looks of it. Apparently you flirt too much. Really, I thought any version of me would show some restraint." Not that he could actually talk. A few years ago he was flirting with over a dozen girls. With that, the two of them followed by Kishi began to walk in the direction of Fairy Tail.
"Sakura. We'll stop by Onibas on our way. I have something to do in my apartment before we go to Fairy Tail."
OOC: Even shorter I think.
