Welcome, to the summarized rules and information thread, which will hold all of the key information you will need to know - summarized for your own convenience.
General Rules
General Rules
- No being rude, starting fights, trolling, name calling, bashing, etc.
- No meta gaming.
- No excess swearing.
- No sexual content, be it IC or OoC on the forum
- No cheating.
- No spamming or bashing in the C-Box
- Your character may only be in a maximum of three threads
- All staff rulings are final.
- Keep advertising where it belongs - in the advertising/ affiliates board.
- No power playing, god modding, etc, including in battle. No auto hitting/always dodging attacks, be mindful of the rule that follows this one, when battling another player.
- Each battle post lasts about six IC seconds (so, your character quite obviously shouldn't be casting a million spells and ninja-ing around like the post span and IC hour.
- Max signature size is 500w x 300h
- If you want to post your real name, fine, but don't advertise a name that isn't yours to tell.
- All character bios require approval from two staff members.
- Admin can appeal any decision made by a staff member. It takes two staff members to veto an admin on customs and character sign ups.
- Faceclaims are okay, but people will no longer be able to blatantly steal characters from another series. It is a slap in the face to people who actually invest time and energy into a character.
Mage Levels and Spell Levels
Mage Level | Exp Required | Spell Level | Maximum Spell Level |
Greenhorn | 0 - 99 Exp | Greenhorn | Greenhorn |
Low-Level | 100 - 999 Exp | Feeble | Mediocre |
Mid-Level | 1000 - 2999 Exp | Mediocre | Intermediate |
High-Level | 3000 - 4999 Exp | Intermediate | Destructive |
Master-Level | 5000 - 9999 Exp | Destructive | Devastating |
Grand Master-Level | 10,000+ Exp | Devastating | ---- |
To put it simply, each mage level after Greenhorn (excluding the highest level), allows you to cast spells and use items up to and including your own level, as well as a limited amount of spells one level above yourself if the magical attack stat allows. Also, each mage levels grants an increase to your character's magic supply.
When making spells, keep the power of the spells level in mind. Refer to this table or click here for more information:
Spell Level | Damage Capabilities |
Greenhorn | Little damage, possibly causing scratches or bruising. |
Feeble | Minor damage, more serious bruises and cuts, minor burns, etc. |
Mediocre | Offer higher ranges, with average damage that adds up. |
Intermediate | Rupture thick concrete, breaks trees and snap metal. Can inflict life threatening wounds, and have an area of effect (AoE) that spans the size of a house. |
Destructive | Demolish boulders, scar mountains, incinerate limbs, etc. Can also cast area of effect spells that cover a span of several houses. |
Devastating | Demolish enemies, level forests, mountains, buildings, etc. Can cast AoE spells that span large fields |
Skill Points and Skills
For each post you make on the forum, a skill point is added to your account (they may also be earned through events, contests, etc), which is yours to spend as you please. You can buy a new magic with it, a new mage type, or even skills that will make your character stronger and better. You can improve a characters speed, strength, endurance, reduce the cost of casting spells, and much more. Spend your skills wisely to customize your character.
To view the base skills, and purchase them, click here. If these do not suit your needs, review some of the skills that other players have made or make your own, custom skill, and have it approved.
Guilds
Guilds act not only as a home for mages, they are also a wonderful source of income (which is obtained through missions).
In Fiore, there are two types of guilds, legals guilds ( also known as light guilds, that are recognized by the magic council) and illegal guilds (known as dark guilds, that are not recognized by the council, and often partake in devious acts, doing whatever they please, no matter how wrong it may be, or how many people may be hurt).
It is illegal for two light guilds to wage war on one another (and if this were to happen, the Magic Council would intervene).
All guilds have a single master, typically the most powerful member.
To create a guild, fill out the template and have it approved. To get a headquarters (a board), you must be active for a month and have at least three members.
Missions
This is the primary source of Jewels (the currency of Fiore), as well as experience for mages. There is not much to explain about them, and there are only a couple of rules to keep in mind:
- you may do a maximum of two solo missions per day, but you can do unlimited group missions in a day.
- For each character joining a thread, you get an additional 20 exp and 100 jewels, not counting your own characters.
- your character may only be in a total of three threads (even if they are not all 'mission' threads, you are still only permitted to be in three.
When making missions, or seeking to complete available missions, keep the table below in mind. For extended info, click here.
Rank | Requirements/Information | Jewels | Exp |
D | Anyone can do these. D ranks are fairly simply, and not dangerous, usually just small tasks and errands. | 0 - 100 | 1 - 20 Exp |
C | Anyone can do these. They are only vaguely dangerous, at least for those who are not careful. These are also small tasks. | 101 - 300 | 20 - 40 Exp |
B | Requires a Mid-level mage to accept. At least 3 members need to partake in the mission. Dangerous, with staff generally controlling NPCs. These are more battle oriented. Master level mages can solo these. | 301 - 700 | 40 - 80 Exp |
A | Requires a High Level mage to accept. At least 4 members need to join the mission. More dangerous, death is likely. Generally used only for events (attacking guilds, stopping huge threats, etc). Grand master level mages can solo these. | 701 - 1,200 | 80 - 120 Exp |
S | Event only. Staff controlled NPCS. Death is waiting for you~ | 1,201 - 3,000 | 120 - 200 Exp |
Update to Missions
Pot Limit has been changed in groups, now instead of every player having to post the indicated post limit, additional players simply increase the post limit by an amount. So if two players were to take a mission that had a post limit of 4, instead of the entire topic requiring 4 post from each of them, it would only require 5 post total if it was a D/C mission, 6 post total if it was a B/A, and 6 if it was an S.
This is being done to make shorter missions when larger groups get together.
Fighting Reward System
To encourage players to duke it out, a simple fighting reward system has been put into place. To qualify for this bonus, simply abide by these rules (and keep the information provided in mind):
- You must complete the fight (and it must actually be a full fledged fight, not just play fighting or a single punch)
- You do not have to kill the other person to get the reward, nor do you have to beat them.
- Fighting multiple players instantaneously does not increase the rewards.
- If you fight someone at a lower level than yourself, then the reward is halved, and when fighting someone two ranks below you, you get nothing.
- On the other hand, fighting someone a level higher than yourself doubles the reward, and fighting someone two levels highers will give you double the next tier of rewards.
Base Rewards
Greenhorn Vs Greenhorn: 50 Exp
Low-Level Vs Low-Level: 100 Exp
Mid-Level Vs Mid-Level: 150 Exp
High-Level Vs High-Level: 200 Exp
Master Vs Master: 250 Exp
Grand Master Vs Grand Master: 300 Exp
Magic and Mage Types
While making a character for the first time, it is important to note that you cannot start with a lost magic, You can only obtain Lost Magic by doing the ad contest or when you buy a new mage type.
Also, please note that you are only allowed one lost magic per PLAYER. This means that you canonly have one character who has a lost magic period, unless they have the Deadly Crow Mastery. You cannot combine lost magics even with the Deadly Crow Mastery (so no, you cannot have a Heavenly Body Dragon Slayer or anything like that).
Aside the types that are listed below, you may use any sort of magic that you wish. Magics that only your character own are not considered lost magic. Only the following is lost magic (list subject to change).
In time, your character will be able to learn up to three magics, and have up to three mage types, so choose wisely!
