The Noblesse Oblige
Guild Master:[/u] Durriken Petulengro
Purpose:[/u] Though the guild has a history riddled with darkness, it's purpose has become somewhat more admirable in recent months, ever since the guild had been passed off into new hands. The guild, while it still challenges the government and Magic Council when they make questionable decisions, has drifted towards the light, choosing not to perform under handed deeds, nor to feed the darkness of their own past.
The guild master's personal belief system had influenced a sort of code of conduct for the guild. This way of life is referred to as the 'Noblesse Oblige', which is the moral obligation of those with power, influence, wealth, etc, to act kindly, generously, and mercifully towards those who are not as fortunate. For the guild, the Noblesse Oblige means standing in the way of the government and Magic Council whenever their actions threaten the people of Fiore. It means putting a stop to rogue mages, whom would use their magics to harm those who are unable to protect themselves. It means stepping in when politicians, the wealthy, the socially powerful have strayed into the darkness, spreading corruption. It means many more things, and is a matter that is taken seriously within the guild
The guild, despite the flow of time, retained it's need to enforce justice (not necessarily the law, simply what is the right thing to do in a situation), no matter whom may be obstructing it. They do not mindlessly follow orders from other influences, nor do they purposely oppose others to start a fuss. Rather, the Griffin Wing guild acts as a sort of silent protector. They are always observing, over seeing, remaining neutral and refraining from interfering until someone steps over a line, abusing their power and resources to attain a certain goal.
This is the Noblesse Oblige, and they are the noblesse, blessed with the magic to protect and fight for the rights of those that did not have such blessings.
History: The history of the guild is largely unknown, but it was rumored to hold many, many dark secrets that kept the government and Magic Council at bay. However, when the second guild master, Eve Justice, vanished without a trace, she took many of the secrets with her. It is rumored that these secrets are hidden somewhere within Griffin Wing, which is perhaps why the current guild master can always be found pouring over books or seemingly staring at nothing, but any searches for these secrets have been unfruitful. At least, for the time being...
Requirements To Join:[/u] The guild has fairly simple requirements. You must be a mage, you must take the guild logo somewhere on your body, and you must have a desire to help and protect others.
Requirements To Leave: The guild stamp must be removed from yours body, and you must swear to never release any secrets you might have learned about the guild, and not to use any contact you made at the guild for personal gain.
