Name: Obtain the Wheel of Fortune Rank:Rank B Posts Limit:4 Posts Objective: Trek to the tallest mountains, deepest forests, and darkest caves looking for the Wheel of Fortune card. Or better yet just ask the High Priestess where it is. Then go an obtain the card defeating any opposition using the cards power for evil. Reward: 700J or Wheel of Fortune Card Exp: 80xp
Name: Arc 1: Who are you. Rank: A Posts Limit: 6 Objective: After a strife against Shiva, Shinzu has been left heavily damage and unable to recall past memories. His ability to register new memories also seems to have been affected, though with enough help, he does seem to be able to recall certain events or people. Help him uncover his past and find out just exactly what happened to him. Reward: 1200 Jewels Exp: 120 Exp Durriken's various leads have led him to the port town of Harujion or more specifically the casinos within the cities' borders. He found out that the Wheel of Fortune's powers centered on chaos and games of chance so it would make sense that it would end up in one of the many magical casinos within the cities' walls. As he entered the city walls, he saw the sun begin to set and the street lamps begin to turn on. He preferred this since it would prevent any issues with citizens getting in the way if he had to steal the Wheel of Fortune. If this were, anything like the High Priestess the group who had it would be using it for the wrong reasons and would not want to part with it willingly. As he walked the streets, he cursed himself for not doing more research. Hindsight was always perfect but he wished he would have asked around if anyone of the casinos should be avoided since if they were using the power of the Wheel of Fortune they would have a greater advantage then other casino owners. As he walked, he felt a weird prickling in the back of his mind and he sniffed the air getting the unique smell of mint and vodka...no...it couldn't be. He quickly pulled his Cloak of Shadows out of his bag and pulled it over himself and stepping into the dark alley vanishing into the shadows due to the magic of his cloak as he pulled out some cards just to be safe since Shinzu was always one to attack first and ask questions later.

A slight sigh would escape Shinzu's lips before they would curl around the tips to form a sinister grin. As if rather proud of himself, he took a step back and chuckled at his handy work which consisted of a lifeless corpse arched over the ledge of the building he was standing on. Like a scene out of a horror movie, blood had been leaking profusely out of a wound across his jugular, leaving a pool of crimson blood stretched across the textured concrete roof.
"Too easy." Shinzu stated before tapping his sword against the floor, the act of which causing droplets of blood to detach itself from the blade. With this hardly being enough to clean his broadsword however, the teen walked slowly towards his lifeless victim as he prepared to wipe the bloodstains on his weapon against the corpse. Before this could be done however, the mage would look curiously over the edge and at the streets below as he noticed something shimmering against the moonlight.
Squinting his eyes, a closer inspection would serve to reveal to Shinzu that it was actually the street lights that seemed to be hitting some sort of object that would retreat into a dark alley, causing it to vanish almost entirely from sight. Silently walking over to the other side of the building, the teen would look down at the alley and confirm that indeed whatever that thing was, it was now gone. Rather than simply accept this fact however, he would step over the ledge and leap forwards, almost seemingly flying for a split second before gravity would take hold and launch him downwards.
"Peek-A-Boo!" Shinzu yelled as a black shroud would envelope his feet before fading away to reveal a pair of demonic boots. As he finally reached the alley the teen would land in a harsh crash, causing rather painful vibrations to explode around the sole of his feet before climbing up his legs. With the boots absorbing most of the impact however, he retained just enough control in his legs to walk forwards, his blade all the meanwhile extended forwards like he was hoping to simply walk into whatever that strange figure was and impale it.

Durriken was surprised to see Shinzu just jump from a rooftop. Wait, what was dripping from that rooftop he was just at. No time to think about something like that and he figured it was better that he didn't consider that. A card appeared between his fingers and the card glowed as the purple magical circle appeared below his feet. The spell required touch so his foot drew a small circle in the dust of the ground as the brickwork began to melt turning into a deep mud. If Durriken's calculations were right and they better be after judging falls all of his life, Shinzu wouldn't be able to roll through such a fall which means he has to have some type of magical item to stop his shin bones from ending up somewhere in his rib cage. That means when he landed he was most likely going to land hard, it was easy to negate the inertia going into the body itself, he had a card that did that as well, but he also learned from that card that normally, the spell maker doesn't think to negate the inertia going into the ground as well. A thin ribbon of mud emerged from where his foot touched the ground before going out. As it went further away from Durriken it got deeper until everywhere outside of where Durriken was immediately standing was changed to five feet deep mud. Once Durriken landed and the mud must likely going over where, he would release the power fueling the spell and it would go right back to the brickwork, concrete, and dirt that he transmuted, right around Shinzu. Right before Shinzu landed he casted a weak shield around himself so he wouldn't make a complete mess. To do this another card appeared between his other set of fingers and a translucence bubble appeared around him. "Hello Shinzy-poo, interesting to see you around here? Don't you got some dog of the government work to do? Maybe kick a few puppies?" he asked, no malice in his voice as if he truthfully expected Shinzu to just go around and kick puppies in his free time. "As you can see I have collected a few more tricks since the last time we met." He cocked his head sideways as he looked at Shinzu waiting for something to happen since he doubted the rock and brick could hold the man for long. Mana: 95/107 Feeble Range:Two Foot Radius from Caster Description: When activated this card will create a dim brown shield around the user that can absorb the power of one spell of lower rank. The shield will shimmer and crack into pieces when struck by the spell and if it was high enough it will shatter violently and continue through. Drawback: Requires Two of Pentacles to cast and limited by the tarot card sustainment table.
Mediocre Range:Melee Touch Description: When activated allows the user to transform earthen material into other kinds of earthen material. Example: Mud to stone, granite to coal etc. Drawback: Requires Eight of Pentacles to cast. Does not affect processed metals. The effect is only temporarily lasting for the duration of the thread. Only one transmutation can be done at a time, if a second attempt is made the first one is reverted to normal.

As the shock of landing exploded through Shinzu's bones he would suddenly grow wide eyed as droplets of what looked like mud scattered into the air on impact. Glancing downwards, the teen would catch a glimpse of his legs knee deep in some sort of pit filled with mud. As if to make matters worse, the earthy substance would then transmute back into solid concrete, making it slightly more difficult for the mage to escape this rather well executed trap.
"Bravo Durriken, if I knew it was you I would of just killed you from up there." With a smirk, Shinzu would then stab his blade into the concrete before releasing his grip on it, almost as if to say he was asking for a truce. "Mind setting me free now? I would do it myself, however there is a dead body on that rooftop I just descended from and to be rather frank with you, I would rather not attract any attention to myself by using any 'flashy' spells while I am anywhere near it."
Folding his arms tightly, Shinzu stood firmly, his stance and demeanor almost elegant if it were not for the fact that the lower half of his legs had been sealed rather humorously in concrete. "So come on, be a dear and let me out so I can walk over there peacefully and tear your guts out." In contrast to his rather brutal speech, the teen would give Durriken a rather cheesy smile which looked as if it could only belong on the face of the most harmless of children. "Pretty please? For an old acquaintance?"

Durriken was glad he cast the shield spell as the mud flew up around him covering him entirely before slowly dripping and then cracking and breaking off as the mud turned back to concrete. It left him safe and more importantly, clean.
"Hmm. Flashy you say?" Durriken said walking around the man but still keeping a relatively safe distance. "So you wouldn't want me to say, set off a large explosion or maybe call down a lightning bolt. I would say the lightning would cause some people to check out where it landed considering the storm will come and leave in under a minute."
He then paused in front of Shinzu and put his hand to his chin as if in thought.
"Maybe I should do what I did to entertain the children during the holidays, but instead of giant flaming eagles and dragons I do a giant arrow pointing right to you?"
"You see Shinzu, you leave me with a conundrum, you are an acquaintance, a hot one at that, but I, you see, like my guts right where they are. Though it would give Riley and excuse to hunt you down and throw your parts to the four corners of Foire. It must really suck though being this far away from any real plant life that you can use to fuel your Great Tree Arc of magic."

"I would highly advise against causing a scene with your little storm. You see, the only thing keeping you alive right now is the fact that I wish to attract as little attention to myself as possible right now. If things get out of hand, then I will simply destroy everything in my way until you are dead. Besides, a little havoc and chaos just might make it easier to fade away into the fleeing crowds." Shinzu would then end his sentence with a smug chuckle as he locked his eyes with Durriken, almost as if he was threatening the man with a fearsome glare.
If this wasn't enough to unnerve Durriken, a pitch black shadow would begin forming behind Shinzu, which would slowly begin to shape and form to reveal the outline of a colossal beast with two snarling dragon heads. With the alley not being large enough to encompass its full size, the walls around it would begin cracking and crumbling, though before much else could unfold the shadow would simply fade away into nothingness before the creature could fully materialize. "As you can see, my powers have evolved far beyond Great Tree Arc magic."
Bits of rubble would begin breaking off the walls before landing in the two crators the semi-formed giant had left behind in its wake, the act of which causing echos to fill the silence as Shinzu continued staring off against Durriken. "Do you understand now?" The teen would reach for his sword, causing the runic symbols on the blade to light up in a rather demonic shade of red. Rather abruptly, a section of the concrete around Shinzu would explode outward, spraying Durriken in tiny fragments of rubble. Once this cleared, it would leave behind what looked like cracks that seemed as if only the sword could of possibly caused. "All I seem to hear these days is Riley this and Riley that, honestly has everyone become her little pet over the last few months? Regardless, let me tell you your only two options. Set me free, or I shall set myself free and tear you limb from limb before you can get the chance to run back to Riley."
Mana: 140/150
Spell Name: Flutter, Boots of Hermes Level: Mediocre Range: Medium Description: The user materializes a pair of jet-black greaves around their legs, which seems to have been forged out of some sort of incredibly dense and otherworldly metal. Intricate patterns are also carved directly onto the greaves, which extend outward slightly in the form of several spikes which grow slightly longer the higher up they go towards the mages knee, giving off the appearance of a demonic wing on the outer side of each greave. Once per post the greaves can harness the users leg strength, allowing him to 'kick off' the ground seven times in almost an instant to perform a Shadow Step. The resulting force pushes the user off the ground and causes him to blur as he travels up to 10 meters away in a single second. A variation also exists where in the mage kicks off the ground fourteen times instead of seven in a single instant, causing him to leave behind up to two after images, each of which can only persist for a single post before they fade away into nothingness. By moving back and forth between the images the user can even make it seem like they are moving, however doing this can cause high amounts of strain, making it impossible to use any high speed spells for a full post. Drawback: Costs 10 mana to conjure the boots. Shadow Step can only be used once a post for a total of three times in a thread. Since this focuses on leg strength, even the slightest leg injury can make it impossible to use Shadow Step without causing more damage to the leg. Can only be used in a linear direction, however the user can perform Shadow Step multiple times in one post if in total the distance traversed does not exceed the 10 meter limit.
Spell Name: Virtue of Fortitude and the Bringer of Flame, Fortitudo Level: Destructive Range: Long Description: By focusing intently, the user can warp their very surroundings, causing bits of debris and other objects in the environment to merge at a single point to form a colossal golem. The golem itself takes the form of a immensely large creature with a pair of angelic wings and two dragon heads that act as arms. Lower down, the golem also has two legs with multiple talons and a long muscular tail that has some sort of golden vine-like structure wrapped around it. The most prominent feature however is the upside down face stretched across the beasts torso, which seems to posses intellect unlike the mindless and more vicious dragon heads which are seen protruding from either side of its back. Overall, the golem appears to be heavily armoured in what appears to be gold, the majority of which on the top which seem to be sprouting outward and around the twin dragon heads like branches. Not only does the creature posses immense durability and raw physical strength, but once every three posts it can fire a beam of highly concentrated energy from either of its dragon heads that can reach a maximum distance of 40 meters before decimating the area hit in a fiery inferno which can span a maximum of 20 meters. Drawback: The golem possesses a high level of intellect and will usually carry out the summoners will, however it can be provoked into doing things that may be outside of the mages best interest. Each limb including the body can withstand a single attack of a lower rank than the spell before being destroyed. Heavily damaging the body will destroy most of the creatures cognitive function, causing the entire golem to go berserk. Once per thread use only.

Durriken kept his face blank as his mind wracked for an idea to diffuse this. He didn't doubt that he could get away with his life, it was a big city with plenty of places to hide but he didn't really want to have to go back to Riley and say he was partially responsible for the destruction of a good chunk of Harujion. He always felt that was what put Griffin Wing ahead of Fairy Tail since Griffin Wing can do what Fairy Tail does without destroying half of a town in the process. He was only able to keep his face blank because of the strict circus training. When on a job you had to keep in character no matter what was going on inside your head. If you were a happy clown you kept on your happy face, villain or hero, you always stayed in character. "My power has also evolved Shinzu." He said as the anger burned in his heart for what Shinzu said about Riley as his guild mark on his arm began to glow with a bright yellow light as Durriken's magical power and aura rose. "I realize this is truly what the World Government feared, not my tarot magic but the magic of my blood itself. The connections within a gypsy tribe were not forged only in love but in magic. Since my joining of Griffin Wing and meeting Riley, the magic unlocked itself feeling that I have regained my tribe, and in a strange sense, I guess I have. He went to pull out a card when instead he pulled out his High Priestess which was glowing with the same yellow light as his guild mark was. Taking this as a sign he held it up having it float in front of him and adding his power to it. When he did so the card grew until it was about as tall as Durriken as the women from within the card simply walked out before smacking Durriken upside the head and then Shinzu as well. "You two need to cool your jets or you will end up destroying the Wheel of Fortune for all eternity and I swear upon all that is secret that I will make sure everything you lost Shinzu, STAYS lost." She scolded the two raising her voice at the end. "Even though I can't see the secrets when I am in this world doesn't mean I can't see how stupid you two are acting." She finished folding her hands over her chest. Durriken Mana: 88/107 High Priestess Mana: 27/27 Intermediate Range:Variable Affinity:Light Description: Durriken throws the High Priestess card in front of him where it will spin for a moment before facing outward and growing huge till the Priestess is life size. She will then take a step forward out of the card. She has a mana pool equal to 1/4 of the caster max mana. Drawback: Limited by the tarot card sustainment table. Requires High Priestess to cast. Once she enters the real world she loses her status as out of time and loses her ability to see into the future.

Shinzu would study Durriken's expression, causing the sense of impatience within him to grow more intense with each passing moment. If it not were for the fact that his feet had been solidified in concrete, he would probably be tapping his foot in frustration right now. "Whether your abilities have evolved or not is irrelevant, in terms of raw strength and power I surpass you in all aspects." A sudden hint of curiosity would then well up in the teen as he noticed the guild emblem on his foes arm light up rather strangely. "What was that? What did you just do?"
Having grown rather tired of Durriken and his long winded speech about his so called 'tribe', Shinzu began stabbing his blade into the concrete, causing chunks of it to explode outwards all around him as he prepared to fight the man. Having been expecting some sort of fireball or something heading his way, the teen would act rather surprised when the gypsy would instead summon some sort of strange woman. At this point the mage would begin wriggling his leg, allowing him to free one of them from the cracked concretes grasp. With the other still locked in place however, he would be unable to dodge the summoned creatures strike.
Giving a harsh snarl, Shinzu would begin rubbing the reddish mark the woman had left on his head. Despite the fact that Durriken had been left equally injured by this however, the teen still couldn't help but point his anger in the mans direction anyway. "Learn to control your minions, what is the point in summoning that thing when she does not even obey you." Now that the gypsy had been on the receiving end of the mages harsh comments, it was time to focus on that annoying woman of his. "Just for those comments of yours, perhaps I really will destroy this so called Wheel of Fortune purely out of spite."
As his anger took hold, Shinzu would begin stabbing the ground violently before finally dislodging his final foot from Durriken's concrete prison. Upon taking a step forward however, the teen would suddenly freeze in place as something the priestess said suddenly popped right back into his head. "What did you mean about everything I have lost? What do you know?" This card the gypsy manifested seemed to possess some sort of higher power, though what exactly was still the question. "This seems rather fun, though answer me this. Is this one of those contracts where if I kill the gypsy you vanish forever, or will killing him ultimately mean that you are forced to serve me instead of him?"

Durriken flinched when he felt the smack come from the back of his head and rubbed it as he watched with fear rising in his gut as the High Priestess spoke that way to Shinzu. She couldn't die, he could. Calm yourself child. he heard whispered into his mind "She isn't a minion. I don't micromanage her...it's called trust. I trust her." Durriken said simply hoping she had a way out of this situation. It was then the High Priestess' turn to speak. "I wouldn't suggest purposefully destroying that spirits last remaining portal to this world if you ever want to win a game of chance again. I can't be certain on if its power flows out to luck in general as well since even my insight can't pierce that chaos." Two infinites combining and such, our powers as spirits tend to not work against each other. She informed Durriken through the mental link. "And what do I know? In this form, about as much as a normal person but once I am again outside of space and time, I know every....single...little...secret about you Shinzu Hakari. I am the gate keeper of secrets and it is within my power to let them out or keep them hidden. If you kill him, I will be forever sent back to my realm where I will have all of eternity to make sure you never recover what you have lost that it remains secret and that every secret you want to keep, never stays kept." High Priestess Mana:21/27 Durriken Mana:93/107 Feeble Range:40 Yards Description:While the High Priestess is within this world she can communicate psychically with the person who summoned her. While this effect is active the summoner can respond in the same manner. Drawback:If constant communication is maintained the summoner may develop a headache.

"How interesting." Shinzu smiled wryly, one part of him almost fearing the Priestess' power, while the other portion of himself lusting for it deeply. "Though all this talk of spirits is rather confusing. How is it that even with a spirits last remaining portal severed, it can still have enough access to this world as to make my life a misery?" Whether a bluff or not, the teen decided at this point not to destroy the Wheel of Fortune as to avoid its unrelenting wrath. Besides, these omnipotent creatures or spirits rather as they like to be called were starting to interest the mage.
As if to call a truce, Shinzu would sheath his broadsword by his side, the act of which causing the runic symbols to fade away into nothing more than carvings against the steel. "I feel a alliance forming, perhaps we should strike a deal that does not involve me disemboweling you?" With a chuckle, the teen began dusting off his trousers as to remove the tiny specs of concrete that were clinging to it before continuing his words. "Allow me to share that High Priestess of yours and I shall aid you in attaining that new card which you desire so much. In fact, I will even settle for the Wheel of Fortune instead if you are feeling rather stingy." At the end of his sentence the mage would extend his hand outward, causing it to envelope itself in a intense white light. With the Priestess' apparent insight, there was no doubt that she would be able to tell that this was the workings of Take Over magic.
"Come now, lead the way and we shall both receive what we wish for." As if to say he would not be taking 'no' for an answer, Shinzu would step aside and extend his arm outward to tell Durriken to lead. "If the High Priestess as you call her is truly blessed with this power of insight, then I am certain that she knows my help will be invaluable in finding the Wheel of Fortune. Not to mention things will go a lot smoother if we just cooperate, is that not correct?" A wide smirk would then carve itself onto the teens face as he resisted the uncontrollable urge to force the gypsy into thanking him for not taking his life. "Shall we leave?"

The High Priestess gave a mysterious smile that was more in her eyes then her lips as she turned away from his glowing hand.
"Careful with how much power you reach for, you are not immune to the perils of Icarus. The future is infinite and finite, endless and immediate; there is a reason why mortals only get a glimpse." The High Priestess said her eyes boring right through Shinzu showing him her agelessness.
She then turned and walked over to Durriken and whispered something into his ears that Shinzu would not be able to hear.
"Smile as if I told you a secret that gives you power over Shinzu." she whispered and then spoke loud enough so Shinzu could 'just' hear it. "Just in case." The High Priestess glanced back at him right after saying it before slowly fading away.
Durriken did as he was told and smiled toward Shinzu letting a bit of mischief enter his eyes as he dusted himself off as well even though nothing got on him through the bubble shield around him that got shattered from the concrete flying in all directions.
"I promise you that you can take over the power of the Wheel of Fortune after I obtain it since you will need me to summon it to this plane of existence. I tracked it to a casino in this town I am just not sure of which one. This is where you might be able to help. Do you know of any that have been doing better than the others?"

"Icarus fell from glory because he was unable to exceed his limitations, I however am not destined to fall so ungracefully. You of all people should know that, oh Wise Witch of the West." The spirit would then focus her eyes on Shinzu, causing him to glare back at her. Regardless of her threats however, her abilities were something he could not just simply pass up that easily. Before he could press the issue any further however, she would begin whispering something into Durriken's ear; words which the teen would struggle to hear.
"What did she tell you gypsy?" Shinzu muttered, clearly displeased with the prospect of what the spirit may have told him. Whatever the case, Durriken seemed to be willing to work together, causing the teen to temporarily put his animosity behind him for the moment. "The Lucky Jackpot- A large casino which despite the uncreative name, seems to have been expanding at a rather rapid rate. Over a few months it has gone from something unheard of into one of the largest and most successful casinos in the city."
A shadow would then dart downwards and land on Shinzu's shoulder, revealing itself as a rather large raven with three beady red eyes on either side. The strange pet would then begin playfully picking at the teens clothing with its beak as if to gain his attention before it pointed its head in a western direction. "West, if we keep traveling in that direction from this location then we will reach The Lucky Jackpot. Considering how it has also put most of the other casinos around it out of business, we can be sure that my pet spotted something peculiar in that building."

Durriken nodded before pulling his color magic item out of his bag. He switched his brown hair to a bright blonde, his cloths to a deep blue and his guild mark to the same tone as his skin so it was barely visible. He then took off his earrings and put them within the bag itself. He was starting to be noticed and if they mages knew how to use the card, they were sure to know who he was. He wanted to avoid conflict at least until they were out of public view. He then put on his meteor glasses and his cloak of shadows once again making the cloak the same deep blue. He checked himself in the mirror that was provided on the color magic before putting it back in his bag.
He then pulled his cloak around him as if he was cold and walked out expecting Shinzu to follow him.
"Guessing you will take this as an insult though I don't mean it as one; let me handle getting us in and into the back. At least at first, if I cannot feel free to be your wonderful self and knock someone through a wall but I would prefer to do this quietly and my magic is more suited for this kind of thing. "
He would have to scope out the place but he figured faking a fire would be a good way to get people the people out. Set off a sprinkle or two and fill the place with his fake smoke.

Shinzu would then take note of Durriken's antics, namely how he was going to such a extent to hide even his hair colour. "I assume you are having fun playing dress up, however would it not be so much simpler to use that ability from earlier that allows you to avoid detection?" The teen would then begin following the gypsy, though rather than trailing behind him a slight distance which might of been the smarter thing to do, the mage simply walked besides him, clearly not interested in being stealthy even in the slightest.
"Well now, so you do have a plan?" Shinzu's voice was rather amused. After all, he was half expecting that Durriken was simply going to walk in, take the card and then fight his way out after the Wheel of Fortune had been discovered missing. "Very well, seeing how you have apparently thought this out so well I will allow you to take charge. And as a courtesy, I may even attempt to sabotage you as little as possible." With a sly grin, the teen continued following Durriken whilst trying his best to stay out of his way, or at least until the time was right.

Durriken didn't like giving away secrets relating to the items he kept and powers he had but he supposed he had to this time less he look like a fool.
"The cloak only works when I am in the shadows which are going to be hard to find in a brightly lit casino. And my plan is to cause the fire alarms to go off to make the normal clientele to run out leaving only the casino staff left to deal with. I don't mind sending them to the hospital, I just don't want to deal with civilians getting in the way."
As they approached the casino Durriken paused and observed that at the door, they were confiscating any and all weapons before allowing the person to enter. It seemed somewhat moot to Durriken since so many people can do magic and that can't be taken away easily but it did create a small problem for his 'friend'. Or more specifically Shinzu's giant sword.
"Unless you can hide that giant sword, I suggest you shove it in here." He said as he pulled his satchel from his side and stretched it out wide for Shinzu to shove the sword into. The bag was clearly not deep enough to hold the sword if it wasn't magical in nature. Because of its magic the satchel can hold anything that can fit within it's opening so if Shinzu chose to put it in, he would find it going deeper and deeper and deeper into the bag until the sword was completely contained by the bag.
If Shinzu decided to put the sword in he would then move his tarot card around so they filled the normal looking area of the bag so it appeared they were the only thing in there since they took up all the apparent space within the bag.
((You can move us in now if you want pass the weapon check station Shinzu)) |
