"In other words, that cloak of yours is useless?" Shinzu smirked at Durriken, almost like he was mocking him. Though, that does explain that slight glimmer I saw of you down below back when I was on the roof... top..." The teens face would grow solemn for a moment, however he would quickly shrug this off with a sigh, almost like it was no longer any business of his. "I forgot to deal with the body I left on the rooftop." He admitted before focusing his attention back on the gypsy.
Shinzu would then take in Durriken's plan before deciding to comment on it. "Not that I don't deeply enjoy violence, however, I could just as easily cut off all the power, which would allow you to sneak in through the shadows with your cloak." Admittedly, the teen actually preferred Durriken's plan, however he just couldn't resist the opportunity to order him around. Before much else could be said however, the duo would reach the casino, the sight of which causing the mages eyes to collapse into a squint as he struggled to adjust to the multitude of lights shinning down from above the building.
"I am no expert, but I believe we have arrived." He said before pointing at the grotesque collection of neon lights that spelled out 'The Lucky Jackpot'. Upon Durriken's speech however, Shinzu's focus would remain primarily on the security guards that seemed to exist purely for no reason other than to ruin the teens fun. "Very well, though I would much rather prefer to shove 'it' inside of you." Clearly, the mage had missed all of the gypsies innuendos.
"So then, shall we continue?" Taking the lead, Shinzu would head for the entrance before being stopped by one of the two guards, who seemed to be dressed rather smartly in a tuxedo and bow-tie. "This ones clear." He muttered before moving away from the entrance in order to give the teen a passage in. Upon taking a few steps forward however, Shinzu's eyes would suddenly grow dark as he pivoted around and grabbed the guard from behind, instantly breaking his neck with a violent arm movement. "Oh dear... Force of habit."

Durriken rolled his eyes but with a practiced ease pulled the Ace of Swords from his satchel and with a quick flick of his wrist, the sword appeared in his hand with the swirling of air around it to signify its advanced power. The last time Shinzu saw this sword it was just a simple blade, but Durriken's advanced study of the tarot has brought out some of the blades hidden power. With a quick wave of his arm blood flew from the other guard's throat as he collapsed to the ground dead as well. He then glanced at the ceiling until his mind fell to the first few sprinkler heads he saw. He swung his blade in their direction and a crescent of air flew out of his blade hitting four in a straight line and causing them to scent down a cascade of water. Soon after the difference in pressure caused the others to go off as well as the fire alarms. Durriken then turned and gave Shinzu a glare that clearly spoke "I will talk to you about this later" before crouching and then springing forward flying off in a blur. He expected Shinzu to follow him but at this point didn't care much since he would just have to follow the dead bodies to find the man if he lost track of him. He ended up on the upper balcony looking down upon the people running out, as his hair got drenched from the downpour of water from the sprinklers. He looked out his eyes darting out rapidly taking in the movements, looking out for those who did not run directly out and signifying a higher knowledge of what was going on. When Shinzu arrived, Durriken didn't even turn to speak to the man. "I hope you got that out of your system. I am not here to babysit you and I am not above leaving you here if you cause us to get caught." He said simply in battle mode. Mediocre Range:Melee or 10 Yards Description: The user pulls out a tarot card that when activated conjures a basic long sword. The sword is mundane with no special abilities or powers. This sword can be used by anyone but the further it strays from the conjurer the harder it is to maintain. The sword is identical to the sword depicted on the card. At Mediocre rank the Ace of Swords conjures a sword that has currents of wind rotating around it. It has the ability to slice through 20% of the opponent’s armor and with the expenditure of one feeble level spell can launch sharp crescent of air that inflicts slicing damage but does not ignore armor. Drawback:Requires Ace of Swords to cast. The crescent of air does not distinguish between friend and foe and requires the slicing of the sword to activate. Limited by the tarot card sustainment table.

"Hmph, you killed him with no hesitation at all. And there was me thinking that you were kinder than the average gypsy." Shinzu's mocking attitude would quickly end as Durriken's antics set off the sprinklers, causing a drizzle of downpour to soak the duo from head to toe. Extending his arms to the side, the mage would allow his lungs to fill with wet air as he took in the ever increasing torrent of water that would weigh down his clothes. "I hope you realise, that you are paying for my dry cleaning."
A sudden mass of bodies would then rush out from the doorway, causing Shinzu to lose sight of Durriken as the flurry of people obscured his vision. Regardless, once the majority of the crowd had made its escape the teen wouldn't be left with much else left to hinder his eyesight aside from rows upon rows of slot machines and roulette wheels. Scanning the scenery, eventually the mages eye would lock with the gypsies figure in the distance. Clearly, he was looking for the people who decided to remain in the casino despite the danger the sprinklers being set off signified.
"Consider this, if they were careful enough to check for weapons what does that mean for mages? There are plenty of ways to seal off a mages supply of mana if you fear them enough, however the fact that they did not suggests that they have no fear of magic. Most likely, because they have mages of their own to rely upon." This comment seemed aimed particularly at a couple of the body guards that seemed to be communicating with someone by talking into their mics.
With a glint in its eyes, the teens raven would suddenly swoop down from outside of the building and begin pecking and clawing at the fleeing civilians, the act of which forcing large portions of the crowd back inside, causing a frenzy. "Shall we leave? With all this chaos the guards will be distracted and we will have the perfect cover to move around." The teens gaze would then lock with a door on the far corner of the room, which seemed to be the most heavily guarded portion of this floor. Even now, four guards seemed to be glued to it, refusing to move even in the slightest regardless of everything going on around them.

Durriken thought on Shinzu's words. For once the man actually said something smart. In a world where magical is so plentiful, it did sound stupid that they would check for weapons. Why bother about a knife when a person could shoot a fireball of some sort.
He looked at the sword in his hand lying at his side in his hand. He held it up closer to his face and tried to detect the small swirl of wind that signified its magical enchantment. He saw the mild swirl of wind but it looked more subdued. As an experiment, he gave it a swing, trying to throw a crescent blade of magic, and noticed that it did not work.
He frowned and spoke. "Looks like you were right Shinzu. There is something in here blocking off magic. It doesn't negate it since my sword is still here but I doubt I could summon it again if it got broke or faded. I suggest you grab you sword and let us get our hands dirty."
He waited for Shinzu to pull the blade from the bag and if he didn't do it quickly he would just go on without him. He held his sword up and tried to take out some of the guards. He got half way toward them moving as a blur before he saw a blast of fire come right at him. He went to dodge but noticed the water raining down put it out before it got to him. He had to chuckle mentally but stopped short as a bolt of lightning from the same mage just missed him.

Shinzu would observe Durriken slashing his sword at the air, the act of which doing little else aside from fanning some cold air in the direction of the swing. "Interesting, is this entire building under a magic blocking spell... Or is the source of this linked to something else?" The teen would then reach into the gypsies bag, which was certainly a lot more spacious than it looked. Like he had just plunged his arm into the deep dark depths of a vast ocean, the mage felt around before his grip met with the familiar texture of his weapons handle.
Pulling it out, the blade would be freed from Durriken's prison, causing the runic symbols on it to light up, though a lot fainter and weaker than usual. "Interesting... Our supply of mana has not been cut off from us." Pondering over this for a few moments, the sound of fireballs and lightning bolts whizzing through the air would catch Shinzu's attention. By the time he had snapped back into reality however, all that remained were a few mage's and a almost electrified gypsy. "Need some help? Ah yes... I was forbidden from doing anything." With a grin, the teen took a few steps back and leaned against one of the slot machines, his demeanor clearly revealing that he had no intentions of helping Durriken.

Durriken's free hand rose in the air behind him as he spun and dodged another lightning bolt and for some reason or another only his middle finger rose as it faced Shinzu. Only one mage was fighting while the other two watched which was good for Durriken. Underestimation would be their downfall. Through his heightened senses, he was able to feel that the next attack would be water based so he charged forward. As the water bolt came at him, he sliced forward with his blade and divided it as he unleashed his full magical aura deflecting the rest of the watery bolt around himself that just happened to send half right at Shinzu.
He closed the gap too quickly for the other two to react or for the mage he was fighting to prepare another spell. With a quick slash, Durriken was through him and the man's upper body was separated from his lower body. He was able to put a lethal wound up one side of the second mages torso before the two mages tried to attack him.
With an extra burst of speed he vanished from site and appeared about eight feet away. This was enough room for him to dodge their attacks with his normal speed since at Feeble level they were fairly slow which is why they were four there he figured.

Shinzu was rather enjoying watching the battle unfold itself, however his keen eyes would soon shut out the outside world as a stream of water suddenly shot out right towards his face. Upon opening his eyelids, all the teen would see would be a damp puddle collecting under his feet, along with droplets of water pouring down from his clothing. "Bastard..." He howled under his breath before shaking himself off, the act of which causing a multitude of water drops to spray out in all directions with the mage as their epicenter.
Grabbing his broadsword, Shinzu would suddenly kick off the ground and zig zag towards the two mages, who all the meanwhile would be unleashing a barrage of all manner of elements. With their rather slow timing however, the teen would manage to make his way within striking distance before they could prepare their next set of spells, giving him the perfect window of opportunity to slice through their throats in a single swing. "If only you were standing near them gypsy, I would have been blessed with the perfect reason to accidentally cut you down with them."

Something sparked in Durriken's eyes. It was a strange look, sort of as if he knew that was what Shinzu was about to do or that he knew not to stand there. However, how could that be, it's not like Durriken could see the future, or could he? In honesty, he couldn't but at times he would get small flashes that would tell him if he was about to get struck or in this case die. It took a lot of energy out of him when it happened but it will save his life multiple times in the near and far future.
Durriken would then walk over to the nearest dead mage and look through his pockets. Within he would find an ID card and a small gem plank about the same size as the ID card. He hid the plank behind the ID card and pocketed both. He wasn't surprised to feel a weight lifted off his shoulder signifying his magic was back. This was one of the ways he suspected it worked. Magic was very logical even when it could do incredible things. If there was a spell blocking magic within the walls of the casino, and the men could do magic, the spell was either personal based, which would be really hard to work out with new employees and just the complexness of it made his mind boggle. The more likely way, and the way it was, involved an overarching spell and a secondary spell of negation on each mage. The plank he took off the mage allowed him to cast magic as long as it was on his person.
He went over to a second mage and only took out the ID card and tossed it to Shinzu wondering if the man would notice. He didn't want to hinder the man but he didn't really want to help him either and a small part of him enjoyed trying to outwit the man.
With his magic restored he pulled a mirror from his bag and the non magical version of his Wheel of Fortune. He stared hard at the card before turning his gaze toward the mirror before uttering a single and simple phrase to Shinzu.
"If you stab me in the back I swear to all that is holy, I will haunt your ass for all eternity." The speech wasn't rude, just very clear that he would find a way.
"Show me the Wheel of Fortune." He said simply.
He stared into the mirror as his eyes zoned out. He couldn't see a thing just blurry images in darkness. His eyes and eyebrows would shift as he was trying to see further back and the image shifted for him zooming out until it showed the very top of the casino from the outside since that is part of the town he actually saw previously. If Shinzu looked into the mirror he would only see Durriken's reflection. Durriken's eyes zoomed back in turning quickly to make sure Shinzu was where he left him before he went into the spell.
"Okay, so the card is at the top of the building, want to have a race to see who gets their first? Meet at the most likely cliche giant doors that lead to the bosses office?" he asked. Mana: 99/107
((Let me know if I need to edit this, trying to move us a long a bit and this lets us get to the final confrontation with as much or as little baggage as we need we can each go our own way and do it in one post instead of the back and forth of a joint battle))

Shinzu would observe Durriken walking over to one of the slain guards and pocketing his ID card. This act would cause the teen to lower himself onto one knee before dragging his hand over the corpses body, which would eventually allow him to feel out two objects poking out from within the former persons pockets. With very little to stop him at this point, the mage would lift up the fabric of his clothing and reach in to grab a ID card and some sort of strange plaque.
"As expected." Shinzu smiled as the plaque released the heavy feeling that had been bearing down on him all this time, which he assumed was being caused by his magical aura being blocked. "This magic blocking 'curse or whatever you wish to call it was cast immediately upon entering the casino's walls. Surely there must be something to help distinguish between targets and allies." Rather pleased with his theory becoming reality, the teen would give a quick smirk before pocketing the plaque as if to brand it as the so called curse cancelling object in question.
At this point, Durriken had begun staring intently into his mirror, though not before he would utter something rather annoying. "Just give me what I desire, and I shall have no reason to betray you. Yet." With the gypsy now lost in a trance-like state, Shinzu would take the opportunity to close in and pull out a small book from his jacket. Rather swiftly, he would then tear out a long strip of paper and drop it into the gypsies bottomless satchel before hopping back towards his original location.
"Finally back with the living?" Shinzu mocked as Durriken finally snapped out of his trance to reveal that what they were seeking would be on the top floor of the building. "A race you say? A meaningless proposal. You pose no challenge to me in the slightest." Despite his words, the teen had apparently accepted anyway as he took the initiative to head over towards the doors that the mage's were guarding. Rather than running however, he simply casually walked over towards them before swiping the ID card he had picked up earlier to cause the doors to unlock, revealing a almost endless spiral of glass stairs. "Fancy." He muttered before slowly making his way up one step at a time, each footstep meanwhile causing a fragile 'klink' to echo into the air.

Durriken took his own ID card and swiped it at a large metal double door he saw down a small hallway. When he did he heard a small ping as the doors slide open. Two men walked out of the elevator and Durriken kept his poker face giving them a nod and quickly dropping his sword making it vanish before they could see it. They nodded back not realizing he didn't work there since he was basically dressed like a was a show worker and he walked right in. He then pressed the top button and the door close button at the exact same time, which would send him right to the top of the building without making any intermediate stops. He tapped his foot as he listened to the soft instrumental music played in the elevator. He felt that it was a fairly odd choice of music but he didn't pay it any mind. As he got close to the top floor he gestured with his hand and his tarot cards floated out and hovered around him like a swarm of bees for easier access when he needed them. When the doors opened, he found himself right in front of what he said earlier, a large set of cliche giant doors. They had a giant gold colored lock on it and no card swipe. Behind the door he felt a large source of magic equivalent to his own and the smaller source which he suspected to be the Wheel of Fortune. He stood outside the door and waited for Shinzu to arrive. |

A flash of lightning would suddenly erupt out of nowhere, causing the glass step directly in front of Shinzu to shatter into a million pieces before descending downwards in the form of glitter. After glancing down at the dark abyss below to confirm just how high he was at this point, he would then shift his gaze upwards which would allow him to spot up to ten figures above, each one expelling some sort of colored aura which suggested that they were priming their spells.
Narrowing his eyes into a harsh glare, Shinzu would jump over the gap created by the missing glass step before hurrying along up the stairs. Before he could even reach one of the mage's however, the small army had already unleashed their spells, causing all manner of fireballs, thunderbolts and streams of water to rain down at the area immediate to the teen. Although he suffered no more than a few burns and a paralyzed left arm thanks to the attacks, the more pressing matter was that most of the stairs below had been annihilated, leaving gravity to have its way with the mage's body.
"What is this odd drowsy sensation?" He muttered as the spells from before began to have a rather strange effect on him. Biting into his lip though to keep himself awake, Shinzu allowed his lungs to fill with air before he would exhale it all in the form of a cold mist. As his body descended, two lumps would begin to form on his back, which would quickly grow to such size that they would simply burst through his shirt to reveal two wings made out of ice.
Now aided with the gift of flight, a quick flap of his wings would send Shinzu in the opposite direction to where gravity was sending him; upwards. A second wave of spells would then by send downwards, which would be accompanied by some shards of glass. A powerful wing-beat however would push the shards harmlessly away from him, whilst at the same time allowing the teen to dodge the incoming spells, the act of which causing the enemies high above to begin panicking out of fear of what was to come.
With a cruel chuckle, Shinzu launched himself high above at a blinding speed as his right hand became encased in sharp talon-like frost. Like a bullet, he would then whiz past all the mage's, causing them to drop to the ground in pieces as a trail of blood exploded out from each one before their flesh finally crumbled and split apart at the teens high speed slashing. "Oh, I lost?" He said rather solemnly upon reaching the top of the stair case to meet with Durriken.
Giving one last glance behind him, Shinzu's gaze would be met with decapitated corpses littered across the spiral stairway below, each one having tainted the one glorious crystalline glass in a deep shade of red. Despite this however, Durriken didn't even need to look at the path the teen had taken to get here to realize what he had been up to; the crimson liquid dripping from his clothing and icy talons already said enough after all.
"So what did I miss?" Before Durriken could respond however, Shinzu's eyes would have already locked with the gargantuan door, or more specifically, the curious lock that seemed to seal it shut. "Allow me, I am a master lock-pick." The teen would then walk closer towards the giant golden lock, before studying it carefully for a good minute or two. For those moments, it almost seemed as if the wisdom of a thousand sages were passing through him as he studied the complexity of the inner workings of the lock.
"I understand." He stated with a smile as he extended his right hand outward. "Well, not really. Locks are annoying inventions." Suddenly a blizzard of frost would explode from Shinzu's palm and encase the lock in ice. A creaking sound would then begin to emanate into the air before eventually pieces of the frost began to break off along with bits of metal from the lock itself, which would continue until eventually the entire golden structure had been shattered into pieces.

Durriken was going to reach into his bag for a set of lock picks but when Shinzu walked up and shattered the door, he put his hand back dropping the lock picks back within his bag....he would then mutter under his breath "Never mind then..."
Walking through the rubble he saw the man sitting behind a large oaken desk slowly getting up. To his left, their right, there was a large game show style wheel. Durriken could tell due to his animal senses that it was the Wheel of Fortune as well as the fact that well, it was a giant wheel. The man would then walk over and give the wheel a spin.
[dice=10]
The wheel spun and spun until it landed on the image of a soap bubble. The image then blinked rapidly a few times before the man found himself encased in a giant bubble of energy. This bubble would reflect the first spell of destructive level or lower that was cast at him.
"Keep him busy, I need to take care of that Wheel before he gets something dangerous, and no, you can't just destroy it. I am not sure how powerful this card is, but if it is anything like the spread it could do nearly anything, it is chaos embodied." He said as he jumped to the side dodging a chunk of ice fired in his general direction.

Shinzu would grimace slightly as his foe became surrounded in a protective bubble of energy. "Destroying the damned thing would be far easier..." Despite his words, deep down the teen knew that Durriken was indeed correct, leaving him with no other options other than to engage the foe. Holding his fingers to his mouth, the mage would release a high pitched whistle, the act of which causing his feathered friend to swoop in through the glass window.
A small ring on one of the ravens talons would then light up in a faint purple color before unleashing a basketball sized fireball at the foe. Upon reaching the man, the bubble surrounding him would dissipate, however not before reflecting the fireball back at the avian creature, knocking it back into a wall before causing it to drop to the ground in a unconscious and smoldering state. "So that bubble not only acts as a barrier, but also reflects attacks?"
Extending his arm outward, a ball of black energies would begin to form around Shinzu's palm before it would all be unleashed in a column of dark energy. The beam would be so powerful that it would distort the very air around it and demolish the ground underneath its path. With a steady aim however, the teen would ensure that the wheel of fortune would not accidentally end up caught in the crossfire, which was a lot more than what could be said for the well dressed man and his rather fancy desk if he stood there doing nothing.
Name: Lich Ring Level: Mediocre Description: A almost otherworldly relic said to have been possessed by a Lich, who after his defeat accidentally sealed a very small fragment of his power into this very item. The ring itself is silver in color and has quite a jagged appearance along with a rough texture. There is also a rectangular purple jewel on the top, which is held in place by what looks like a set of claws. The ring can shape itself to fit comfortably on anyone's finger, regardless of size. Due to its power, the ring has the ability to fire basketball sized orbs of fire at opponents in rapid succession, their flames being a otherworldly purple in colour. Each fireball can leave behind moderate burns, however their true power is in the fact that once a ball of flames makes contact with a foe it will not simply explode, but rather push against them and use the concussive force to push them back a meter before dissipating. Drawback: The fireballs cannot traverse more than 15 meters. Each fireball uses up a slight amount of the users energy, totaling to about a mediocre level spell for every three used, which is the limit per post. Instead of using his own mana however, the user can also opt to use the cursed energies of the ring itself to cast a fireball without any tax to his own magical reserves, however if done so only one fireball will be fired with a cool down of four posts. Price and Availability: 1200 Jewels.
Spell Name: Gravity Well Type: Universal/Gravity Level: Destructive Range: 20 Meters Description: This spell is initiated by the user extending his palm forwards, which in turn will create a orb of gravitational energy about the size of a basketball. After a second, the user can then unleash all this power in the form of a immense column of gravitational energy, spanning up to 20 meters in length and with a width of 5 meters. A closer inspection would also reveal that the beam is actually made up of millions of tiny droplets, giving the resulting attack the appearance of a horizontal downpour of black rain, which is actually highly compressed gravity given a physical form. Being hit by several droplets will simply weigh the target down for a post, reducing his speed by 20%. Anything taking a direct hit from the beam however will be pelted by countless amounts of gravitational energy, causing the target to be compressed into oblivion. A boulder hit by this attack would be compressed into nothing more than a minuscule pebble, while organic beings would suffer just the same by having their very bones crushed and shattered into pieces. Drawback: Two post cool down. The beam of gravitational energy can only be fired in a linear direction, making it relatively easy to dodge for skilled opponents. Price and Availability: 6 Essence Crystals.

Durriken rolled and dodged the attacks directed in his directions until he noticed Shinzu was drawing the man's attention. This was good since he was drawing more than the natural power from the Wheel of Fortune. It was giving him a super charge and once he severed that connection, he would be easy to defeat.
He stood and coughed as he stretched his jaw. Speaking in the original tongue was always hard for him. He didn't know a lot but he was strictly taught the binding scripture needed to forge the contracts. He was just grateful he didn't have to use it when he commanded the spirits.
"Wheel of Fortune, cerut să anuleze contractul dvs. anterioare şi scrie unul nou cu I, Durriken Posteros Petulengro, adevarat copil a tarot" he said his voice unsure, clearly not sure of himself in what he was saying.
Since he wasn't struck down yet, he figured he did it right and waited for the response from the wheel.
" Pe ce anume gaj pentru serviciul meu?" came a voice out of nowhere he figured was the wheel.
Thanks to his animal like senses he felt an attack coming from his side since the man noticed what he was doing. He felt his power slipping away as the connections were being severed. Durriken ducked the attack and quickly threw out his pledge.
" IMI iau angajamentul ca NU voi folosi-vă puterea pentru a-si apara tribul meu şi pentru a păstra această moarte magic!" he yelled out quickly and distress in his voice as he used his training in advanced speed to dodge another attack as they came more quickly at him. He couldn't even defend himself since the use of Tarot Magic during this was saw as disrespectful and voided it.
" Cu aceste condiţii, VĂ garantez că puterea mea. Utilizaţi-l bine tinere cu tiganul." These words vibrated the words as a near visible snapping could be seen between the man and the wheel.
"DISMISS!" Durriken yelled and by his command the wheel vanished. "Shinzu, now!" |

A immense ball of spectral energy would begin to form near the foes arm, which would slowly begin to swallow and disintegrate everything in its path. Before the ball could be flung however it would slowly begin collapsing, much to the surprise of its caster who appeared to be just as confused as Shinzu. "Hmph, so you do have your uses gypsy." The teen said as his gaze shifted towards the giant wheel, or rather the section of the room where it was previously standing tall. "It appears your secret weapon left you."
With a cruel glint flaring up in his eyes, Shinzu walked towards the suited man who would back off until eventually he would stop as a giant glass window sealed off his escape. "Farewell." The teen muttered as he closed in on the cornered foe. In a swift motion, Shinzu would punch the man in the jaw, causing the glass behind him to crack before shattering completely under the weight of the strike. A quick glimpse of the foes face would reveal a bloodied face, though there would only be a small window of time to see this before the momentum of the punch would cause the man to topple over the edge, sending him hurdling down the edge of the building.
