The night sky brought an eerie feeling to Sora as he stood looking into his surroundings that were bathed in darkness. The moon was at its zenith, sending its glow down to the sphere below. A wind was blowing, shaking the limbs of the trees. Leaves flew through the air, twirling about, unable to control themselves. Sora stood in the center of a clearing of the forest that met with a dark cave. His entire body was still. A bright glow of the moonlight reflecting off his amber eyes showed the cool look he was giving towards the black opening.
"I remember this place," he whispered, his lips barely moving. Only those of the greatest hearing would have been able to listen to him. His eyes made an arc around the opening of the cavern, looking for all the things he remembered. The breaks in the rock wall next to the opening. The indentation that had been made from years of training in the form of a lost magic.
Above the main opening was a line of jagged rocks, giving off the sight of a large creature that had its jaws wide open, awaiting any prey to walk into the shadowy depths. The moonlight was not able to puncture this darkness. Sora could not even see within the depths. Even without being able to see, he knew what was inside. Only, he did not want to go in. A strange feeling took over him. Fear? No, it couldn't be. Overcoming this feeling, Sora stepped forward and began his walk into the mouth of the beast. He kept his body ready, his ears were open and his eyes were darting around. Once inside, the shadows seemed to have dissipated, allowing one to see inside. After going on for nearly two hundred feet, Sora heard a low growl. Not the growl of some small furry reptile, but rather the growling hiss of a large reptile.
All the possible fear Sora felt quickly went away. Behind him, covering the exit was the rear of a large gray beast. Scales lined the entire being. Down the spine of the creature were numerous spikes, each as large as Sora was. He could not see the face of the creature, but he knew who it was. The amber eyes opened wide in excitement as an almost childish Sora came out. "Tempestine!"

There was no doubt about it. The great creature that stood before Sora was most definitely Tempestine, the dragon that had raised him. His eyes were wide open in surprise. He could not believe that the dragon that had left him behind seven years ago was here. All the time he had spent looking for his foster father must have been in vain, because here he was, in the very cave where Sora had been raised. "Tempestine!"
Sora cast off the awe that was inside him as he shouted the name of his father. Enthusiasm was building within him, the fact that his parent was back. He started running towards the dragon, though the dragon started walking away. The closer Sora got, the further away Tempestine became. His hand was outstretched in front of him, trying to grab onto the familiar scales. Yet he never reached them. They were just beyond his grasp.
When he followed the dragon out of the cave, the magnificent creature spread its wings just as a bird about to take off. With a great push, the dragon was thrust into the sky, leaving Sora behind. Sora had started to chase the dragon, hoping that it would hear his cry and notice him. Alas this never happened. The young man was standing out of breath with his right hand outstretched, the fingers trying to extend to the furthest they could.
"Father!" Sora yelled, hoping that this last attempt would draw Tempestine's attention.
Before Sora could see anything, the entire world grew to a different color. He was on his back and above him was the light colored ceiling that covered his bedroom. His right hand was outstretched above him, just as it had been. Letting gravity do most of the work for him, Sora moved his hand down to his face and placed it over the center. His fingers had separated in a way that still allowed him to see the ceiling. "It was only a dream?" he asked the emptiness.

Now as Sora was awake, he turned around and gazed out the window that allowed moonlight to be cast into the room. His eyes were staring straight out and into the distant forest where the house he and Koryu owned was situated. "I won't be able to get back to sleep," Sora sighed as he was rubbing his face with his right hand. With the other he quickly threw off the blanket that was covering him, and stood up.
He walked over to the window that was closed and opened it, pulling the wooden frame up and letting the cool night air flow in. Sora took a deep breath as he leaned out the open window. His bare chest was shown to be significantly whiter that it was normally. On the left side of his chest, the black nine-tailed fox spirit tattoo rested. The tattoo was the guild emblem of Kitsune Lament, and it marked Sora’s membership with the group.
”Tempestine…where did you go?” Sora questioned as he slumped down and stared out at the night sky. The sky was clear, allowing the stars to be seen. This was the question that Sora had been asking himself every day since his foster father had left him behind. ”Heh, I need to stop this moping stuff,” he sighed while slapping his face with both hands.
Sora then turned around and walked back into his room, staring at all the posters that were stuck into the wall by knives and nails. He walked past all the items and got to the door that blocked off his part of the house from all the others. Once he walked through the door he was back into the open part of the house that included the kitchen and living room. He went straight through this part and right to the main door that led to the porch.
The young man opened the door and went out onto the porch which was covered with the branches of the tree that their house was built into. Sora kept walking forward until he got to the end of the porch and he jumped off.

The brief distance Sora fell let him experience the sensation of the wind and air, until he landed lightly on the ground. He walked a brief distance from where he landed so that he could reach the empty field where there was a break in the trees. The field had short grass that was soft to the touch. It truly was an empty part of the forest that had no need to make any defenses to make people not want to live there. Sora walked into the place in his bare feet. He liked the feel of the grass as he walked on it. The feeling was something that reminded of his time living with Tempestine.
"Father, we'll be able to meet again if I get stronger...right?" Sora asked the moon as he looked up at it, believing that somewhere, Tempestine could hear his question. "Let the night training begin!" he announced, dropping himself to the ground.
On the ground he performed a number of push ups, trying to get himself in shape, although he already was already quite fit. Once he did a set number he jumped to his feet and put himself into a fighting posture. His left arm was in front with his right fist held close to his face. Then, he started performing a number of punches with his right hand. After each one, he repositioned himself to start from the same position each time. Once he finished a set of punches, he switched his stance to be the exact opposite his right arm in front and left fist close to his face. There, he again did a set of punches, following the same guidelines he did the previous set with.
Already he was starting to be a bit fatigued, but that would not stop him as he then started performing kick with either leg, giving each side of his body an equal amount of treatment in his training. When he finished doing most of his martial arts training, he then jumped onto both his hands and held his body up in the air with only his arms. This was still a hard thing for Sora to do because of the difference in muscle power between his arms and legs. Even when the pain started coming, he let it happen. Pain was good. That meant that he was getting stronger.
Eventually, his arms gave out, and he fell over, crumbling on himself and turning into a pile of what could be considered mush. Annoyed at this, Sora quickly jumped back to his feet. The final part of his martial arts training was his artful combat practice, where he would try to merge himself with the wind and fight the air.

Sora let himself collapse to the ground in a cross legged posture. He kept his back straight as he made himself sit very still and calm his breathing. Both his fists were then put together before him as he took a deep breath and tried to listen to everything that was around him. The gentle breeze of wind that swept through the tree leaves, rattling the branches. The sound of creatures trying to hide themselves from predators. The soft sound of grass being moved by the breeze and scrapping against one another. All this he could hear when he put himself to it. Finally, he opened his eyes, after taking a deep breath.
Then he stood up, readying himself in his regular fighting posture. He closed his eyes again and took a deep breath, giving himself the final preparation. As soon as a new gust of wind came through the field, Sora started his mock fight. He punched with his right fist, casting a straight attack that would break the guard of an opponent should they use one. The punch was followed by him spinning around on his right foot, sending a kick with his left towards the invisible target. Since no one was there to take the hit, his foot kept going, and Sora used that momentum to put his foot into the ground and jump up while performing another spinning kick in the air, this time using his right foot.
Upon landing on the ground, he let his body get low to the ground as he did a sweeping move with his leg to knock down the unidentified foe. When his leg had made the complete circle around him, he jumped up onto his feet, and performed a back flip, using his hands as the point to complete the flip with the ground. One he got back to his feet he charged the opponent and swung his right fist followed immediately by his left one.
After delivering these attacks, he side stepped while punching with his right fist, and came back to his resting position. His hands were up and he was staring straight ahead as to where his opponent would be. Then, as if he had just done nothing, he smiled and let go of the practice he had just done.
He then took a deep breath. "Time to practice magic now."

The cool wind wrapped around Sora's body as he stood in the middle of the field. He positioned himself so that his feet were shoulder length apart and his body was straight. Both of his hands were pressed together as if he was praying. The amber eyes were closed while the Dragon Slayer took a deep breath. As he breathed in, he pulled in some of the wind, consuming it. He did not stop breathing it in, rather he continued until he could fit no more air into his lungs. When he filled his lungs, he simply closed his lips and took a few seconds to focus on his senses.
He let the sounds and smells around him float into his system for the brief seconds before he opened his eyes. They were brighter and held more color in them than before. "Tremble in fear of the magic of the mighty Tempestine," he whispered into the wind. As he did, his magic began working, making him feel full of energy.
Sora inhaled another breath of air, this time, gray streams of wind started to enter his mouth as he pushed his arms forward. "Roar of the..." he began as more wind began to form, "...Wind Dragon!"
A tornado of gray wind flew from Sora's mouth into the night sky. The wind flew in a widening cyclone about sixteen feet long, and ended at nearly five feet across. When the Roar of the Wind Dragon finally subsided, Sora was still standing still, his body frozen in the motion he was last in. Then, as if possessed, he took a step forward while gray wind began to form around both of his hands.
"Twin Fangs of the Wind Dragon!" Sora cast, launching two tornadoes of gray wind from both of his arms at once. Once the torrents of wind reached their maximum length, Sora pulled them apart from one another. When he brought the wind to either side of his body, he pulled them in the opposite direction, trying to slam the two tornadoes together.
Sora stood with his body upright and both of his arms brought together in front of him, outstretched with his palms put together. The wind dissipated and left the Dragon Slayer standing still in the moonlight. He then pulled his arms back to his body, and let his palms grab the air in their path on their way back. When his hands reached his body, he then put them low to the ground as he lowered his body. Again, he pulled the air up to the center of his chest. "Wall of the Wind Dragon," he said while quickly pushing his arms in front of his body, with his palms facing away from him.
A large gray wind barrier formed in front of him. The wall was less that a foot, or even half a foot thick. It stood at about the same height as Sora, if not just a few inches taller. The barrier was throwing off wind in multiple directions. This magic too, slowly dissipated. When it did, Sora retained the position of what he had just done. He could tell his magic was nearly gone, there was probably only enough energy left to cast a single spell.
Sora went back to standing straight with his feet shoulder width apart. He pulled his right hand up as he dug his feet into the ground, preparing to do a brief headlong charge into the empty field. "Secret Dragon Slayer Arts: Tumulting Spirit's Skyward Sword!"
With this, Sora charged forward, focusing all of his magic into his right hand. When he reached the maximum distance that he could run while holding all of his magic in a single spot, he firmly planted his feet into the ground as he performed an uppercut with his wind empowered fist. Though there was no target there, Sora released his magic as if there was a person there. A large tornado that appeared more solid than its previous counterparts, launched from his fist into the night sky.
After this move, Sora immediately felt as though he could collapse. In fact, he could feel himself being pulled back into the realms of sleep, not from tiredness, but rather from exhausting his magic supply. "Tempestine...I will get stronger...I will become the strongest wizard in this land...I will meet you again..." Sora muttered as he collapsed onto the ground and was again sleeping.
